PAAX (Tulum) returned to Sirin Music with another solo release ¨Senses¨. Latin American artists and producers, world travelers and fusion rhythms lovers, faithless about their latin roots, PAAX (Tulum) has achieved a very own sound. Thanks to different cultural musical influences and the assembly of natural instruments, with electronic bases and experimental nuances, the reason that has led them to perform at the best festivals and music parties around the world, with the support of great artists.

The titled track was recorded in collaboration with electronic music artist from Austria — Stefan Obermaier who has built a name with his remarkable solo releases that have been played by some of the biggest DJs in the business and constantly appear in club charts internationally. The closest description of the sound of ¨Senses¨ is a leisurely organic house slow-burning under the scorching rays of the southern sun. A perfect soundtrack to mellow on the dancefloor.

After a successful “Ubuntu” EP on our sister label Sirin Music, and appearing on Bar 25 Music as part of several compilations, thds comes back with a full album “Rêves”. Belgian-Portuguese composer and multi-instrumentalist combines ethnic and acoustic influences in a piece of melodic and organic electronic music. Since the beginning in 2018, thds has been released on labels like Akumandra, Sol Selectas, and performed live at some of the most respected venues across Europe and further.

“Reading more and more about climate change and the unprecedented challenges our civilisation is facing, I went into a positive/depressive process”, the artist says. “The album reflects the different phases I went through over a year. 1. Rêves: Dreaming about the future. 2. Noîr: Falling into depression. 3. Târd: Partying and avoiding reflection. 4. Ivêr: Isolate myself in a safe place and avoid negative thoughts. 5. Ôbscur: Changing habits to adapt. 6. Fîne: Getting back to reflecting on how to face new societal challenges. 7. Avêk: Finding ways to turn dark thoughts into positive energy. 8. Lakôta: Finding inspiration and positiveness in the world. 9. Desolê: Apologizing for being negative and a burden to people around me during this whole process”.

A modern nomad who has travelled the continents with his music, Nu is as diverse in his musical styles as he is well-travelled.

Taking influences from his various homes, such as Switzerland, Germany, or Peru, the producer and trained sound engineer branched out into various genres (deep house, hip hop, trip-hop, ambient, experimental, dance, and even film and dance theatre music composition). Through this years-long musical journey, Nu then found his true calling: instrumentals amalgamated with his electronic production, all held together through solid rhythms.

Nuʼs music has a strong emphasis on live performance. He fuses clean-cut minimal techno with the raw sounds of his analogue synthesis and his self-made instruments. He works with anything from self-recorded samples over drum and synthesizer machines to multi-touch screen controllers.

Exclusive Toh Imago - La Napoule (Nathan Micay's Life In Every Breath Remix)

Berliner by choice and Torontonian by heart Nathan Micay, also known under his Bwana artist moniker under which he released on labels such as AUS Music or Fort Romeau's Cin Cin, took on remix duties for Toh Imago's track La Napoule, which was originally released on Toh's album Nord Noir last year. Just as the remix title suggests Nathan's approach breathes new life into the original as he delivers a less playful but straight to the point livable version that does not lose the original's character but emphasizes the lead-synth melody. In typical Micay-manner a more techno-esque bassline is added and gives the take a darker note, maybe a little Berghain/ Panorama Bar vibe, which symbolically stands for a more raw and unfinished approach at places, where the electronic music culture still has time and space to unfold its magic and sprinkle the same to its audience just like Nathan Micay does with every beat, with every breath of his remix to both, namely the scene and the Toh Imago's original.

Toh Imago's EP Nord Noir Remixes will be released on InFiné on March 6th, 2020.
