The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Claire Marshall from Cologne's Traum Schallplatten stable lays down 2 hours of exploratory house music and intrepid electronic soundscapes. The key observation here is a certain type of composure and self assuredness in the selection of tracks on her compilations- this makes it entirely impossible to ignore her artistic abilities. Indeed, of all of the 35 artists actually performing at Passenger Presents Adventures in Aviemore - Clair is the artist i am most looking forward to witnessing - she will close off our launch party at The Vault on Friday 6th September after Darren from 808 State. Yesss, today we’ve reached 30° for the first time this year! ☀️💥 Summer has started, it’s hot and mercury is even rising more because of @dimitri_kneppers's guestmix! 🌡🔥

Although times have change and we can’t really rave, yesterday in the Westerpark I started smiling when I saw a mini rave popping up. 💃🏽😊 People ran over to the speaker, some doing balloons, dancing and having fun. It looked so good!! 🤩💫 Ahhh, it would be great to spend some nights in the forest together again… 🌙🌲

Remember that memorable moment, two years ago.. That moment Dimitri took over the wheels of plastic and played his magical set in the forest.. 🚀🥰 People dancing, smiling, flitting and spacing? Well..
