BOYDZONE w/ L B33 & Dalton Saffe

DESCRIPTION

Mom and I recently packed a van with my late Father’s vinyl collection and drove it from Colorado to New York. Thirteen of the seventeen tracks in this mix came from that collection. The other four I think he would have liked very much. 

This mix is a celebration of my Dad’s life, and a thank you for filling my childhood with the sounds of funk, disco and beyond. It is also a note of encouragement for the friends I’ve met on dancefloors here in NYC. You exist with such vibrancy, and fill my life with beauty, love, and turbo-charged badassery. Thank you especially to those of you who poured your heart into this year’s zine. 

The majority of the tracks in this mix are from the 1970s, with a couple toe dips into the ‘80s. That era brought with it a spirit of resistance, love, joy, heartbreak and progress. May these tracks be a reminder that you are not powerless, your mind creates your reality, most of everything is out of your control, and it is important to exercise self-love as you fight for progress in an imperfect world.
