EU-based audio/visual artist Warren Jones aka False Prpht is one half of @prisonreligion -his collaborative project with Poozy, diving deep into the space between blown-out trap and contemporary destructive club music; and one third of NEDE.exp, a collective based in Richmond, Virginia.

Zurich-based artist, researcher, performer and DJ Yara Dulac Gisler @yaraduac , works under the alias
I-vye, because her sisters names are I, V & E. She says, “We grew up displaced in several colonial meanings. So I’d like to state that the music itself is a research dedicated to them and to myself, and those who feel like us.”

Together, they have collaborated on The Black Ether Book “an accumulation of writings, theories, images and transcribed conversations from 13 black artists.”

Hakuna Kulala is excited to share with you this compilation of works and collaborations, result of a 2 year residency program titled "Afropollination" between artists from Mali, RDC, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania and artists based in Germany, many of whom from African descent. The aim of this project was to create cross pollination effect between different artists, cultures and disciplines, fostering community, friendships, collaboration and inspiration and of course new music and art. As works continue to develop, here is a first compilation of works produced by the artists in residency.

AFROPOLLINATION is an initiative by Piranha Arts and Boutique Foundation / NYEGE NYEGE in collaboration with MS Stubnitz , Singeli Movement , Modaperf , Yoke Collective , COSMO Radio, Pussy Party, Morphine Studios, Festsaal Kreuzberg , CTM Festival and funded by the Fonds TURN2 of the Federal Cultural Foundation of Germany (Kulturstiftung des Bundes).
