I woke up one morning and got out of bed
and i stepped on a hedgehog and thought it was dead
then in the end it is this that is what was said
i hope you're in pain boy oh i really do
'cause you flattened me like something under your shoe
and when i see you again mark my words true
i'll snuff you out with my whole hedgehog crew son
he limped out my doorway and rolled down the stairs 
now i'm really worried i'm pulling my hair out
a foot full of spines and a feeling of pain
rode to the cafe had no-one to blame
pulled out my wallet and bought me a coke
and i couldn't tell if i was part of a joke
a gypsy a farmer and all kinds of folk were there
well i guess its safe to say that we were scared
the gypsy began with a story that animals all live in fear
and as i was sat on this rickety chair i wondered
what do they fear most?
so he continued i started to calm 
when who should roll in with a very big army of friends, acquaintances, motley crew,
eyes and spines directed at you
didn't quite know what the devil to do
well if i was you i'd make way for the hedgehog crew...
and that crippled little hedgehog with an evil grin was there
he pointed at me yeah he pointed at me
the fury in his beady eyes shone brighter than the brightest skies

and they all ran at once and the farmer started to scream!
spines they were flying all over the place
cries of the women reaching for their mace
aim it at them please not into my face
i knew what i had to do-oo
i got stuck in with a leg and an arm
intention was never to cause any harm
i lost my temper, sound the alarm!
boy, those hedgehogs flew...
the dust it then settled how i was appalled
at the rodent limbs sliding off all of the walls
i picked up a table, a chair and a stool
invited the gypsy to play me at pool
now if you're thinking that that was the end
of the war on the hogs, it's nice to pretend
my foot is now healing and back on the mend
the foxes and badgers are safe again...
a week or two later in front of a paper 
a nice cup of tea and a piping hot pizza
a hedgehog broke in with a magnum 9mm!
he said all predictably "You're gonna die! so listen up punk, say your goodbye!"
I over-reacted threw pepperoni in his eye
the critter was angry and rightly so for the meat on the go
i was brought up to know it's not right to fight the slow
when all said and done and you stop having fun
and a rodent creeps in and starts waving a gun in your face
pull out the blender, turn the blighter into paste
