The fifth track from my sophomore LP "Glass Orchid"

The title track of the album marks a shift in tone and energy from the previous tracks. I wanted to start the album off with dubstep and energy, get people hooked in before I guided them down to my wave productions. 

During the end of the periphery tour my wife and I were dating someone together. Unfortunately it wasn’t working out and we were going through a breakup with her. Even though it was mostly amicable, it still hurt a lot. I’m a very sensitive person and it was the first time I’d been in love with anyone besides my wife in almost a decade - so it was a weird sensation going through those feelings again after so long.

I was on a flight on the periphery tour when I heard Kambii (the vocalist on this track) post a 45 second clip of the vocals to this. I sat and replayed it at least 40 times and cried a bit. Right after that I DM’d her and asked if we could collab on it.

The vocals spoke to me so much and I wanted the instrumental to be dark but end hopeful. The first version had a future bass drop but I ended up pivoting from that and went with something more haunting and wave

RAVENSCOON - GLASS ORCHID ft. Kambii

The ninth track from my sophomore LP "Glass Orchid"

* Me and dream signal met after my show in Tampa, he showed me his song in the crowd after the show. Normally not always the best outcome like that but it worked! After that we made a collab on Periphery called Dissolve and he joined me for In The Nest and 3-4 tour stops
* He sent me DONT YOU and I immediately loved it but wanted to put my own touch on it. 
* I slowed it down, redid the drums, put in more FX and vocals, and removed some of the synths to make it a big slow churner rather than the 150bpm energetic version he created
* I basically wanted to make it slower and more euphoric but keep like 85% of the original since it was so good already! Very happy with how it turned out
* He’s a very underrated producer so plz go check him out

Dream Signal - DON'T YOU (RAVENSCOON Remix)

The fourth track from my sophomore LP "Glass Orchid"

Still in the realm of old school dubstep, I wanted to combine some of my more melodic elements with that 2010/2012 sound. I actually took a sound design lesson from the legend VCTRE so I could improve my harmonic bass design that I used in this track. 

I slowed it all the way to 130bpm, which gives it more bounce rather than headbang energy. The three drops are distinct, increasing in energy until they climax in a zeds dead style final drop. 

Once I finished the instrumental I knew that it was lacking vocals, so I tapped the legendary Al Kapone (who I collaborated with on my last album, GO!) to add some fun positive energy
