Premiere   Melodic House 001 Selected & Mixed By Kurt Kjergaard

Karol XVII & MB Valence - Polish representatives of the Deep House genre, dedicated to this dance subcategory for over a decade, nominated for Best Deep House Artist Awards on Beatport - the biggest electronic music retailer, awarded by DJ MAG - a monthly DJ magazine as the best Polish DJs. Karol Samocki and Marek Bigajski (as these are the artists' real names), led Loco Records - their independent imprint, to the title of the best Deep House label on Beatport with their three recordings in top 10 best-selling tracks of Beatport's annual sales reports. The pair have been involved in cooperation with many great Deep House artists, starting from Miguel Migs, Brian Tappert, Robert Owens, through Timewriter, Ian Pooley, Jimpster, and ending with Lusine, or Maya Jane Coles. Focusing mainly on releases on their Loco Records label, they also made exceptions and put out their tracks on other smaller or even much larger labels, such as Get Physical, Toolroom, Suara, Armada Deep or Ministry of Sound. Their first original album was released relatively late, because only in 2022, with 3 singers invited to take part in the project: Jono McCleery, Lazarusman and Keely Timlin.

Fortsetzung deep story nr. 176

Die Natur befriedet meinen Verstand und meine Seele. Ich kann durchatmen und loslassen. Die alles erdrückende Dunkelheit weicht langsam zurück und Wärme steigt in mir auf. Beflügelt durch diese Energie gleite ich durch den Wald. Nur langsam dringen wieder die ersten Gedanken zu mir durch. Dieses Mal verbreiten sie jedoch Zuversicht und sogar Freude. Der Antreiber dieser aufkeimenden Hoffnung ist der Viervierteltakt, der aus meinen Kopfhörern trommelt. Es sind die Rhythmen und Melodien, die mich wieder voranbringen. Mein alter Freund, die Musik, ist wieder zurück in meiner Gedankenwelt und das fühlt sich verdammt gut an. Erst jetzt fällt mir auf, wie sehr dieses elementare Stück meines Lebens in den Hintergrund gerückt ist. Die ganzen Ereignisse haben mich so vereinnahmt, dass ich die Musik nicht mehr fühlen konnte. Doch jetzt kämpft sie sich Beat für Beat wieder zurück und verströmt ihre ursprüngliche Magie.  

Wir freuen uns euch heute Annett Gapstream präsentieren zu dürfen. Die Energie, die sie auf den Tanzflächen dieser Welt entfesselt sucht ihresgleichen. Mit ihren Auftritten bei Festivals wie Bucht der Träumer oder Fusion (welchen wir Live miterlebt haben) hat sie uns vollends überzeugt. Gleich und gleich gesellt sich gern: Sowohl Sandro Schäufler als auch Marcel Schulz stammen ursprünglich aus dem schönen Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Nachdem sie den Namen Kollektiv Ost gegen Ende 2003 zunächst als Synonym für untergründige Tanzvergnügungen nutzen, steht er heute für die musikalische Wochenendbeziehung der beiden. „Wochenendbeziehung“ deshalb, weil es Marcel schon vor einiger Zeit in die deutsche Hauptstadt zog. Erst nach über 15 Jahren baute er dort seine Zelte wieder ab und kehrte zurück ins beschauliche Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, während Sandro nach wie vor in seiner Heimat verweilt.

Die Zusammenkünfte der musikalischen Wochenendbeziehung finden übrigens meist in Clubs oder auf Festivals statt, wo ihre musikalischen Ergüsse auf der Tanzfläche regelmäßig für Furore sorgen. Veröffentlichungen auf Katermukke, Bar25, Dantze oder 3000Grad gehören außerdem zu Ihrem Schaffen.

Lenz is an electronic duo formed by Irish DJ & producer (DJ Joma) and German (Hamburg-based) vocalist, songwriter (Moon Aton). Working together since 2020, they have enjoyed several successful releases to date on labels such as Colour & Pitch, Personal Belongings, 3Bridge Records, Nordic Voyage Recordings, M-Sol Records, Suprematic Recordings, Nicksher Music and Be Adult Music (Ibiza). With a string of releases already scheduled for 2022, it promises to be a bright future for Lenz.

Their monthly ‘Night Whisper’ Podcast show seemed like the natural progression of what they have been doing, and thanks to the help of radio stations like Pure Ibiza Radio, Ibiza Global Radio, Bloop Radio London, Boogie Bunker Radio (Tenerife), Estacion Ibiza Radio, Data Transmission Radio, Radio Zoom (Berlin), Graffiti Kings (London) and Like That Underground (Germany), it has developed brilliantly, and helped bring the Lenz to all corners of the world.

Atmospheric, raw, and cinematic, Lenz is comfortable taking you on an exciting journey and making you sweat on the dance floor. Never afraid to go too deep, their emotional, dreamy melodies and poetic words will invigorate your mind and soothe your soul.

Having grown up on their individual eclectic combinations of European electronica and synth-infused 80s music … all which became infused with their own love for electronic music, Lenz have ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence.

Today, after working together closely these last two years, this translates into DJ sets and production releases where they pick apart and infuse together all the pieces of this music that they love best: beautiful synth work, lush backdrops, brooding basslines combined with Moon Aton’s haunting ethereal vocals… all on top of pronounced foot-shuffling house beats and chilled ambient tones. Together they create the very essence of their signature sound, an emotional and organic contrast of dark and bright, deep, cinematic, genre bending styles, rich in melody and emotion.

What comes after the horizon? Four of Roderic’s fellow musicians remix his 2021 Horizon EP on this release. It starts with a 'Mu': a calm and peaceful remix penned by Iorie. He slows down the tempo, alienates sounds, and adds his familiar voice. Number two is Sascha Cawa’s energetic recyclage of 'Recycle' – how could it not sound like rusty iron blasts? Sebo remixes the title track 'Horizon', adding shakes, base, snare drum, and touching the wave. Finally, Amount also takes on 'Mu', twisting it into an ultra-slow technoid dance banger that resonates long after.

Merging passion and talent - the two became one. Officially hitting the scene 2 years ago. Amidst the pandemic, the two have grown into one of the most recognized duos in the Toronto nightlife scene. ANA&KAE’s progressive sounds and love for melodic techno have pulled the Toronto scene into their arms. With their sound being inspired by some of the greatest DJs such as Guy J, Emi Galvan, Hernan Cattaneo, Stan Kolev and many others, the two are set on bringing forth a similar progressive experience for their audience.
