I wanna say thank you,
To my mum, and my dad, and the love that they had,
I’m thankful,
For the fun and the snacks, for the hugs and the smacks,
I can handle,
Whatever comes in my path, with a smug little laugh,
Coz I plan to, take over the castle,
That my dad built,
With his own sweaty hands, he mastered his craft,
That’s a man who,
Set and followed a plan, had the world on his back,
And he battled,
So his son had a chance, to become who I am,
He didn’t have to, but that’s what dads do,

So I wanna say thank you,
For setting the example,
I’m so proud of you, I’m gonna follow through,
And be a mini-you,

Now I gotta thank me,
Man I sunk so deep, now I’m up on my feet,
I am happy,
If you knew where I was, you know how far I’ve come,
I am at peace,
What a small little phrase I never thought I would say,
I love me,
I love my family,
And I love being grateful,

For The Lonely Men

What a world, taught to be stone, taught to be cold,
But I want to be warm, and kind, vulnerable, sensitive, 
Without feeling like I’m a different breed,
And, I am sick of pretending like I don’t care, yo, I care so much it hurts,
And yet I’m meant to pretend like ‘ah, y’know, she was just a girl’,
Yeah, she was just a girl, but she was somebody to hold, somebody to call after, 
Night after night of staring at my phone, with nobody on the other end, 
Just some pixelated people fucking for some empty dopamine hits,

But I want oxytocin, and acceptance, connection, friendship and permission, to be,
Without having to be, perfect,
Where I can speak my emotions and not have to be stoic, 
A space to be upset, without the fear of her getting scared,
Or finding me unattractive, or thinking I’m desperate,
Like no, I’m just human, I get excited, and disappointed,
That doesn’t mean I’m obsessed, I just liked being in her bed,

I think, we’re so used to men pretending to think with their dick, 
That when that facade falls it’s like, uh, what do we do with this? 
I dunno, listen? We all have problems, 
Yes, I’m on the team that used to be winning but does that justify indifference?

There are too many families missing their brothers, 
Too many headstones that would have thrived as fathers,
Men remember compliments for many years after,
Because we crave affection, but can’t ask for attention,
And listen, I use words as a weapon,
I have sharpened this pencil till it pokes through the bullshit, but most men haven’t, 
Most men, have a habit, of masking, their sadness,
Because, do their feelings matter? Doesn’t feel like it,
I’ve got maybe two male friends where we can speak about it,
The rest, can’t admit, that work was worse than a bit shit, 
I have never heard a man say they felt underappreciated,
Not in movies, not in song, not on tv, and that has to be wrong…right? 
That we only exist when we protect and provide?

I want movies where two guys cry,
If you know any, tell me, I’ll host a movie night,
I’ll tell my friends that there’s pizza and purposely lie,
Pretend we’ll play fifa, but really I’ll try, 
Digging a little bit deeper, and who knows what we’ll find,

Who am I? Just a local little artist with a drive,
To decide what I’m making with my money and my time,
I’m alright making nothing if I’m making what I like,
Baby artist and it’s basically a vibe,

Lotta dreams, so I gotta scheme, leaving open mics,
For a stage, to perform for pay, audience’ll cry,

And then follow all the footprints to the honesty inside,

Finding peace on a bike ride

LYRICS
I sit and watch the night sky, I wonder why life flies by,
I swear last night, I was just a little kid, then I blinked a little bit, turned into a wise guy,
Life doesn’t come with a warning, suddenly it’s morning, yet another sunrise,
Oh right, every dawn is a sure sign, we all die, gotta try and make more of your time,
All right then, I’ll get out of my head, I’ll try, clearing my mind with a bike ride,
I pedal and I’m heading out of my drive, two wheels and a hill’s how I fly,
So bye-bye, to the buildings and the high rise, yeah they’re fine but not my type,
Coz I like, where the grass grows thigh high, leaves a little home for the wildlife,

Puff puff, shit, this was easier when I was a kid, okay right, top of the hill,

As I coast, I feel luckier than most, I look around, I don’t mean to boast,
I live in the suburbs, where the only kind of trouble is... I dunno, I can’t think of those,
But we live in a bubble, treading the same path,
Pavements a track and our feet are the train cars,
Kids only play in the streets and the named parks,
Can we go back to where we’re part of nature,
I dunno, but I kinda hope,
As we build our homes, we can keep the trees and finer growth,
Coz when I grow old, I hope my child will know,
Simple things, the peace leaves in the wind will bring,
And the beauty in a bird song,
I dunno if we live wrong, maybe most are,
Most of our space is reserved for petrol cars,
Don’t mean to hate, we deserve to be loners,
Tryna e-scape into cyberspace,
But if earth was just a nicer place, can we try again?
Coz you know one day, when we have VR,
They’ll paint every pixel to look like where we are,
But I can’t even try pretend,
To act like I’ve got answers when, I’m just a lyricist,
But if I ended up as president, I’d put a tariff on environmental terrorists,
Like, if your product has a plastic wrap, that’s a hundred grand,

For The Lonely Men - Audio Experience

Passports - Poem

Man who am I? Just a local little author,
With a simple, single life, but there’s a million others and,
I’m not even sure, if mine is worth the bother,
So I wrote this little story ‘bout a father and his daughter,

What if my partner somehow passed away in childbirth,
So I got into my car, in the parking lot distraught and,
Held my daughter in my arms, felt that panic rising,
Couldn’t turn the key, I’m sat completely frozen,

What would happen the first time she started crying, 
And I didn’t have a clue, of what else I could try and, 
Wished I had a single boob, and all that it provided,
But I only have this bottle and she really doesn’t like it,

What can I tell her, when she’s asking for a mother,
All the kids at kindy have one, she’s looking in the cupboard,
Asking next time we go shopping, can we stop at the store coz,
If we find the one we like, she’ll be the favourite thing I bought her,

What can I teach her when she wants a padded bra coz,
There’s a boy at school, girls are cruel and everybody’s got one,
She’s getting taller and the little girls forgotten, 
Man I’m terrified, have to lie and act like I’m not bothered,

How can I cope, when she’s ready to move on to, 
University and leave, she’s moving ever farther, but,
She deserves her space, let her grow into her power,
It was hard to have her, but it’s harder now without her,

How can I help you, if you struggle in adulthood,
Maybe fallen into love, but fallen for the wrong dude,
Who keeps flaunting all your flaws, or even put hands on you,
Could I keep my hands off him to show you men can still be gentle?

How can I guide her when it’s me that’s on my deathbed,
And she’s holding my hands crying, our time has nearly ended,
Begging Daddy, can’t you stay? She needs to be protected,
But I’ve given all I can, I’m laying there reflecting,

She’s heard my wisdom in, every single sentence,
And she’s grow into a woman that’s, handling her business,  
She’s got a loving heart, she’s confident, respected, 
So I’m smiling as I pass, we did better than expected,
