C’est avec beaucoup de peine que nous écrivons ces lignes.

Célélé est partie samedi matin, après des années d’un long combat contre la maladie.

Le B2B qu’elle préparait avec RAVL pour Basses Fréquences promettait d’être un moment fort — un set qu’elle attendait avec une impatience joyeuse.

Plutôt que d’annuler la performance, l’idée s’est imposée d’elle-même : 

lui rendre hommage à son image — ensemble, en musique, dans la fête et le partage.

Ce samedi 26 avril, plusieurs DJs qui lui étaient proches se relaieront derrière les platines pour un grand B2B collectif, uni•es par le souvenir, le rythme et l’amour qu'elle portait à la musique.

Célélé sera là, avec nous, derrière le booth. Et avec vous, sur le dancefloor.

We Were Young is a nostalgic ode to the uncompromising thread of time, in which RAVL wanted to decry the memory of a part of life without anguish nearby those with whom he grew up, laughed and lived as a teenager.
It's not about regrets or a longing to go back, just a fleeting fragment of melancholy quickly caught and unscrupulously passed through synthesizers.

It is also a linking work that is presented here. Between the vocoded tones of the French Touch which accompanied the first plunge into the vast ocean of electronic music, between Techno and rave spirit later discovered between the walls of disused factories oozing with the heat of feverish new occupants. And finally a link with the percussive Breakbeat and Bass Music which more recently appeared in the creations and ears of RAVL.

Long-time friend and partner in crime for HI ROSIE, a more recent meeting but no less promising future frenetic projects for Encoded Data, they’ve been able through their two remixes to telescope their respective universes and the original track with skill.

DJ and producer RAVL delivers a break and melancholic universe, combining the warmth of analog synthesizers and icy percussions in a meticulously sharp sound design, infused with textured Hard Drum, UK Garage, and rumbling Techno.

His productions mirror his influences, rooted in a Bass Music intertwined with Anglo-Saxon Techno, branching into IDM and Jungle, sometimes tinted with shamanic South American Club culture, thus showcasing a unique, hybrid, and resolutely modern style.

As a prolific producer, he releases on remarkable labels such as YUKU, [re]sources, Bad Tips, and Nü Kvlture, on which the highly acclaimed "Outrenoir" was released. It has been played worldwide, including at Blumitsu's Boiler Room at Boomtown Fair and by Jamie XX at Making Time.

Collaborating with artists like Tim Karbon, Leese, HI ROSIE, and many other prominent figures in the French Bass Music scene, RAVL rightfully earns his place within this new generation, representing the Phocaean city on pioneering line-ups such as Metaphore Collectif, Animals Industry, Basses Fréquences, POLAAR, and even at Paris Electronic Week.
