Mudra brings its first ever release with the mighty  Serbian star  ”Space Motion” with his astonishing  2024 remake of his own classic “Requiem for a Dream”. 

Mudra is a Sanskrit term that means  "gesture" or "attitude." Psychic, emotional, spiritual, and artistic hand gestures or attitudes are all examples of mudras. Mudras were characterized by ancient yogis as energy-flowing postures meant to connect individual pranic force with universal or cosmic force. 

For our first ever release we bring the 2024 remake of Space Motion’s “Requiem for a Dream”. 

Previously release in 2018 , Space Motion remakes  the mixdown , elements, textures and mastering of this cover classic of one of the most emblematic film scores in the history of cinema: Requiem for a Dream. 

With support from the likes of Solomun, Tale of Us, Magdalena and more, this amazing tribal drum re-work of “Requiem for a Dream” brings hypnotic arpeggios and obscure atmospheres. With this in mind, Space motion is able to re-create the film score in such an organic way that it seems that the original soundtrack was made to fit perfectly on this beats.

Astral Records continues to showcase new and exciting talent by welcoming I.AM to the label for his debut single. Amit Maimon aka I.AM entered the world of melodic house and techno as a DJ first, channeling languages of varied musical landscapes into his sets, and churning them into his own complex rollercoaster of intricate melodic techno. Gigs at some of his country's trendiest venues such as The Maze, have already made I.AM a name to watch as he now makes his production debut with 'Falling To Pieces', alongside remixes from Paul Anthonee, Omar Khalifa & Turako. I.AM's production debut 'Falling To Pieces' lands with the studio touch of an established veteran, in turn finding a perfect balance between emotive vocal phrasing and club-effective grooves. Cosmic and poignant in equal measure, it's a foundation of punchy kick drums and pulsating bass lines which set the stage for symphonic synth phrasing and heartfelt vocals to steal the air. The break only furthers its dancefloor appeal with a grandiose build and powerful drop driven by heartfelt overlays and further sonic mutations. The first interpretation of 'Falling To Pieces' is provided by label A&R Paul Anthonee. In addition to being a core part of the Astral family, Paul has achieved global recognition for his far-reaching sound. Tale Of Us, Maceo Plex, Carl Cox, Innellea, Fideles, Kevin De Vries and more have praised his work, while Running Clouds, Steyoyoke, Parquet and UV Noir have been landing spots for his sought-after tracks. In recent years Paul has chosen to primarily focus on Astral as his production home, while also adding Rafael Cerato's Ritual imprint to his resume. Now, following a remix of 'The Arrival' by Far From Home & Retoric to begin the year, Paul returns to Astral with a huge rendition of 'Falling To Pieces'.
