3 of the south coast’s fastest up and comers have teamed up for this inaugural offering from Raw Aquatic Records. The 3-track EP skillfully fuses the collective’s love of Dark Garage from multiple eras and forward thinking rhythmic patterns, mixing the old with the new.

MYNDST8 – ‘No More Looking’ casts the mind back to the earlier vibes of ‘Techno Garage’, shifted into a modern sound with an electric and funky twist of 2-step. reminiscent of early beats made by the likes of Darqwan, DJ Lewi and Narrows.


DAVI C – ‘Roll It’ combines new injected influences from the likes of Redlight, Roska and Lil Silva. The ethos of the EP in this track is merged with a more ‘Grime’ influence and makes for an interesting fusion.

FLARE – ‘Life’s A Glitch’ delves deep into focused synthesis, creating a ‘Jazzy’ ambience that contrasts over the intricately glitched and pulsing bassline. One for the skankers!

The personality of the EP looks forward and backwards in time with great attention and respect payed to Garage glory days, merged with a futuristic view into where the ‘Bass’ sounds of today may be heading.

Just in time for the summer, MYNDST8 reveals this promising foray into house music, fusing his love of Deep House and Garage. From the offset of the EP you want to be sat on a beach with what ever your poison may be.

“Days Are Near” will sit you back and transport you into deep thought with its balearic stabs and skippy house beats. The silky vocal lends its self-complimentary to the entire composition, running smoothly along creating a sweet hook line.

The Bass mix on the flip is designed to get the crowd on the floor, taking a tougher stance on the beats and bass then the radio friendly original.

Myndst8 - Days Are Near (Extended Remix)

Raw Aquatic Records' label boss MYNDST8 delivers a dreamy freebie on the back of the success of the launch releases that have positioned the imprint amongst the brightest new movements exploring new paths for fusion inspired electronic compositions.

Incarceration typifies the direction of Raw Aquatic. The track is carried along by a sultry chord routine that hugs the soft and alluring synth-lines than would be comfortable in a chill-out arrangement. Myndst8's allure is strongest when the fusion of calm and reflective instrumentation is tied together with skippy drum rhythms that lend sounds from classic analogue drum machines. 808 bass, UK Garage, House, Techno, Breaks, Jazz, Chill Out and Electronica influences all fuse to give birth to a product that looks back in time and into the future simultaneously, creating a vibe that slots into 2012's genre defying tendencies.

Myndst8 sets the scene with a Deep and infectious Bassline that grabs the attention of any Bass/Garage head. Sticking to his guns myndst8 delivers yet another ambient backdrop but this time provides us with a pulsing Bassline on the drop to get you glued to the floor. 

Having been in to his Deep House after turning ever so slightly away from the Garage sound when it went to ‘Grimy” Myndst8 has dug deep in the memory box and pulled this delight out the bag with Swing Scandal, taking the title of the whole E.P

Keeping in touch with that Garage & House Cross over, he manages to meld them together perfectly with a split balance of Deep/tech House and Bass, Defiantly the track on the EP to test them Bass bins.  

Soft delivery does exactly what it says on the tin and more. This 2-step masterpiece takes you deep in to your soul and spits you out on the dance floor.

Raw Aquatic Records stepped out in to the Bass & Garage scene in 2011, masterminded by label boss Jamie Scott aka Myndst8. With a strong focus on creating deep and emotive vibes, merging electronic genres and staying loyal to simple drum programming, the label picked up some serious heat from the likes of DJ EZ, The Widboys, Kion, Whistla, Lejal Genes, Mr Brainz and gaining support on Kiss.fm, Ministry Of sound Radio, Sub.fm and Rinse.fm. 

Having also been recognised by our distributors as new up and comers, we have had help from Trackitdown with a front-page feature and also included in a compilation made and distributed by the Label Worx team.

We feel very privileged for the progress and support over our first year and continue to work hard on making fresh beats and making sure our connection with our fans and audience are meeting their expectations. 2013 is already shaping up nicely with brand new artists joining the roster and brand new material back from the mastering house. 2013, here we come…
