“I’m a Lover” is my response to the dire pain of 7/10 events and their impact on the region. Then, I was avoiding music, and yet repeatedly humming “Lover Lover Lover” by Leonard Cohen, recalling its story (Yom Kippur War). I was thinking, during a shower, how noble Cohen is to turn such pain into love, and wished myself to be a person of love, despite the grief, and to find ways to spread that realization that holds the mutual pain of both sides. After that shower, still in a towel, I wrote it.

After years of writing political punk songs, the most vulnerable thing Yammi Wisler felt he could do was abandon words altogether. “It felt like there was nothing more to say with lyrics,” he says. “Instrumental music was the way to go, and being a lousy jazz player as I am — I realized I needed to invent my own genre to be good at it.” Along with drummer Amir Bresler and bassist Gilad Abro, Yammi created his Yummi Wisler Guitar Combo — and the trio’s Raw Tapes debut, The Albanian Connection, is 11 tracks of new-but-nostalgic Mediterranean boogie-woogie. Taking cues from Spaghetti western soundtracks, psychedelia, Gershwin ballads, surf rock and film noir, the music seems to grin right at you. The combo recorded fast and furious — each song on The Albanian Connection is a first full take to “give the sense that they might fall apart at any minute,” says Yammi. They don’t, but the feeling of risk creeps through. “You could say this album is an attempt to make party music dangerous again, like it originally was when played before human sacrifices and circumcisions.”

'The Lonesome Death Of Sylvia Bumper' is a fuzzed-out instrumental waltz accompanied by cheezy sound effects of fire and crows (as was often done in 50’s lounge music)— Wisler’s guitar echoing above haunted-house organs, with a cinematic-Western, Ennio Morricone feel. Wisler calls it the saddest song on the album, and you can almost picture Sylvia Bumper dancing at the ruins of her burnt village, half crazy with sorrow. The band captured this tune on their very first take — laying down some otherworldly magic, like seeing a ghost before you flip on the lights.

The first single from Yummi Wisler Guitar Combo’s Raw Tapes debut is “Albanian Shuffle” — a mix of sounds that hint at the unpredictable, mischievous style that Wisler concocted across the album. At its core, “Albanian Shuffle” is a 12-bar blues tune, with Wisler’s guitar snaking through your speakers like some forgotten riff from a traveling bluesman. But listen closer; those quivering guitar tones will remind you of 1960’s surf rock. Amir Bresler’s pitter-pattering percussion waft between jazz and garage. And that wobbly, shape-shifting gong in the background is a big metal bowl filled with water. Wisler loves that you can’t quite put your finger on it all: “It’s like opening a door into the middle of a party, where strange people dance to strange music.”

Specially arranged for Amir Bresler’s new band, this updated live version of the fan-favorite track 'Afro Golden Line' is a mesmerizing slow build. Accompanied by Gilad Abro and Rony Iwryn, and anchored by guitarist Gershon Waiserfirer’s special touch and Bresler’s signature virtuosic drumming.

"The album was recorded in 3 consecutive days in which we just jammed - hence the name of the album - JAM - and was the initiative of Harake - a project of Kol HaCampus 106fm radio.

The general idea was to get into the studio, without any songs in advance, and jam using our equipment and some extra instruments to create a live album.

The result is a collection of intuitive tracks all made on the spot, very different from the trio's usual work process - in layers and over time.

Thanks to this process, the tracks got a dynamic living character that compliments the electronic format, giving the album its unique colour.

The sessions got an unexpected twist due to the November 2012 bombings in Israel/Palestine. Alarms that set off at peak moments got us all into a very specific zone which gave birth to some of the songs - Master Of Rockets, I Cried, What Is Madness are among its' children.

With Ein Sof — which translates to there is no end — Itzhak Ventura has created a mysterious, slowly-unfolding album pairing his fluttering ney with an ambient-electronic soundbath from producer/musician Rejoicer. The record, out on Tel Aviv’s iconic Raw Tapes, pushes the boundaries of the label’s already-experimental, genre-blurring roster. Ventura and Havkin converged in the studio in February, 2023, and immediately found their spark. The 10 tracks of Ein Sof pay homage to the classical tradition of the ney while adding electronic flourishes that help these recordings transcend anything that’s come before. Ventura created this album to speak to the soul: “I want people to feel the connection of heart and spirit. The ney itself is a reed cut from its source; this sound reflects how we are also separated from the divine. And these songs bring us closer to unity.”

Bright and dim, matte and glossy, The second single from their debut album, is a lush cascade of drippy synths sprouting in a forest of 4/4 mechanism. Ritual Oko is a vignette of the time shared between two friends.

If can, Apex Twin and Kraftwerk spent a psychedelic summer along the Mediterranean communicating telepathically, the result may sound something like Yuvi and Dori’s album “Music for Superstars.” The title is literal: the album’s 7- tracks were recorded at Six Senses Ibiza in a hazy week in August. However the compositions or “tracks" are surely not “songs,” but rather brush-strokes of midnight blue, orange, gold and purple hues painted in a celestial orbit.

"Toast" is the debut LP by Buttering Trio, consisting of beats by KerenDun, Rejoicer and Beno, and is the result of the cooperation of the three during the past year, collaborating with the best musicians around. 

The beats came to life in three different studios - Wrangelstr. 666 Studio Berlin, Spaceship Studio Kibbutz Dunietz and Kicha Studios Tel Aviv, 
making the album a kind of a schizophrenic new-school romantic child.

Album number three, conceived in three different studios around the world, by the three-headed love monster which is Buttering Trio.

Our third and new album is the reflection of the sobering evolvement of ourselves. We approached the making of the album with clarity and intention, working on a regular basis with a very specific vision, a vision of an album that ultimately combines the beauty of studio-beat-making and organic songwriting. Unlike our previous albums, that were more on the range of spontaneous intuitive combustions, this album is a matured love child of an ever-awaking threesome of parents. ‘Threesome’ is an album that moves the soul, bounces the body and looks in the eyes.

The album was created in 3 different studios around the world - Trixx Studios in Berlin, Fossil Studios in London and Firehouse Studios in Tel Aviv. All the sessions were driven by an uncompromising sound approach, yet always with the natural twist of noise. The creative process was in liquid form - it could be an intuitive beat making upon which harmonies and lyrics are laid, or it could begin with a well processed harmony to which a rhythm is matched.The song making was always potent with playfulness but the big picture was solid. 

Influenced, as always, by round-the-galaxy rhythms and ideas, from indian ragas thru tribal music to archetypical melodies with a drop of dub, this is definitely a new kind of genre. Or no kind at all. This style represents our music and comes to a perfect extraction in this album. Each song stands for itself as an individual, tells a single complete story, still contributing to the harmony of the whole. The special kind of tension between the single song and the whole musical vision is one that we play with, in our live concerts and in this new album specifically. 

The album owes its’ existence to the uniquely changing relationship between the three of us. A relationship that manifests through communication that allows space and mystery, and is based on the common primal acceptance that nothing stays the same.
