BIO:
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Mary Velo got involved in music at an early age. It wasn’t till the 80’s where she discovered Depeche Mode and got attracted to deep & moody sounds. In 2007, Mary Velo moved to Berlin where she got strongly influenced in the Deep House & Techno scene.
With a creditable discography which includes releases on labels such as Frozen Border, Semantica, Gynoid Audio & Diffuse Reality, Mary has proven that hard work gets you somewhere.
Mary Velo’s releases have gotten rave reviews from sites & magazines such as Resident Advisor, Groove, Fabric, FACT, Little White Earbuds, De:Bug, Juno, & Boomkat. Her tracks have also been played & charted by Silent Servant, Function, James Ruskin, Ben Sims, Rebekah, Brendon Moeller, Edit Select, Dominik Eulberg, Toby Tobias & ROD, which has brought Mary to the list of upcoming techno talents. Her track "Detune“ (out on the Frozen Border Minutes In Ice comp) was also featured in Sandwell District's Fabric 69 mix cd.
Mary Velo has played across Europe & Australia in highly respected events & clubs such as Berghain, Tresor & Tomorrowland doing both Live Sets & DJ sets.

For the second part of our Midgar Records showcase we invited Ruhig who has found a regular platform for his productions on the label. He perpared a 60min mix of deep and hypnotic ambient techno and you might even find some R-Imprint stuff in there if you listen closely. We hope you enjoy this set as much as we do.

In his productions he expresses his ideas in threatening synths and air cutting percussions. On the dancefloor delivering varied soundscapes and a fast mixing style, his goal is to keep the crowd electrified.

Originating from Montpellier in southern France and spending 13 years in San Francisco and Montreal before relocating to Berlin, Valentin has dedicated much of his life to music - a journey which has seen him play piano and drums, and take to the decks at the age of 16. These days, when he’s not Dj’ing or producing, he’s running his new imprint, 11001 Records - its first vinyl release by Valentin out in a few weeks. There’s already word of a few more EPs and an ambient Album on it’s way early next year.

He’s also the co-founder of the Teufelsberg Domecast, an ambient experimental podcast series with a unique sound installation. Focusing on live performances played in the Dots Gallery and sent to the dome’s natural reverb acoustic at the top of the main building.
