Moments when you recognize where true faith lies in people can be very much like love and hate. 
Love & hate both have foundations of overwhelming passion. Yet, despite these similarities they find themselves on opposite ends of the same spectrum.
When you first recognize that people around you, especially the ones you love, lack a true faith whether it be in you or themselves, it is one of the hardest phenomena to deal with.
It is the epitome of people who say “I feel you” when I know you don't feel what the fuck I’m on, you just have nothing else to say, yet want to to try to seem true. 
For the emotionally intelligent, the people readers, this is bullshit. If you do not feel me I do not want you to say you do. 
The worst part is, it can be ANYBODY. From parents to gfs to friends to teachers to associates. 
In Chicago we refer to this as phony kickin it. Fuck outta here with that. Maybe i’m too critical of a person but I would rather know that I’m only surrounded by true faith, and mine alone is potent enough to not require fraudulent or flickering faiths surrounding me. I do this shit because I was born to, because I connect to it, with words and rhetoric. Because i will not be sane if i stop. I feel that burning in my chest that powers me and leads me. It needs no outside fuel to keep burning.
It’s painful when people you’ve loved and looked up to for your whole life say they believe in you yet still want you to always take the safest, most secure routes. Even when they know that you will sacrifice the greatest good of all in the process, your happiness. 
For some people a peace of mind is more significant than anything in the world. Knowing that you did what you said you were going to do & went in the direction you know you were meant to move in, or at least gave it your all. Living like this every moment I cannot have regrets. There will always be something we could have done better. A shorter route. But what about the journey of figuring it out? That sounds like the life part to me.
Don’t be a sheep and follow the herd. This is a slavery that we CHOOSE to be in. Being a free man, i’m not CHOOSING to do anything that is going to sacrifice my happiness or come between it. The same happiness that my people for hundreds of years before me died yearning. My energy will kill you before I do.
So I say to my fellow youths, protect your light!!! Be selective in the words and energy that you take in from those around you. If it doesn’t connect with the soul and feel genuine, it isn’t. Through staying true we will show others that it is okay to embrace our individuality and gifts of creation and true culture for the simple fact that this is why we are here!
