POSSESSION PODCAST #166 - TDJ

TDJ, Geneviève’s second musical endeavour, is born from her affiance to nightlife - navigating between the raves and clubs of Montreal while transgressing to adult independence. When releasing her first album as RYAN Playground '16/17' in 2018, Geneviève felt the need to deepen her interest in dance music and get to grips with her need for musical diversity. Similarly to how she shapes RYAN Playground's music around her early Pop/Punk childhood memories, Geneviève seeks TDJ’s inspiration from her youngest memories of electronic music.

The foundation of Geneviève’s music resides in her quest for freedom. Travelling fluently from RYAN Playground’s intimacy to the uplifting fast-paced bass-driven sound she makes under her alter ego TDJ, Genevieve has reached a new milestone where she feels at peace with her diversity and competing attractions of sound expression.

Having started in 2019 during the lockdown, TEDESCO proves to be a rising star now joining as a resident for Boudica and also for Howl Collective and co-owning the 2CPERREA Collective which is a Latin-perreo party aimed to create a safe-space for their community.  They are known for bringing a dark and melodic vibe to the party but their natural ability to improvise allowed them to take us on a whole journey during their performance, opening with latin-club then a whole mix of their favourite genres: bouncy techno, industrial and closing with some melodic beats.
