So imma explain here what the song and album cover for “run me my money” is all about. The story goes quite deep.
A friend of mine invited me to this party. Honestly I didn’t even feel like going. But she knows I always make it poppin and begged me to come, so I was like ait lemme go u know. So I went to the party. I get there and introduced myself to everyone at the party and immediately go outside with my friend to smoke a cigarette. We look inside and people are starting some beef. Things are getting heated all of a sudden inside. I look over at the girl and tell her: “ well its good we went ousside, damn.” Then outta the blue this guy storms ousside and beats me up. All that was going through my head was “why?”,  I was so shocked. Everything went black for moment.

After the beating I got into a depression and barely left the house. Friends came by to try to help me out but I was just out of it. (special thanks to Felicia and the people who checked up on me). My friends told me to press charges, but being a young gay black man, I had no faith in the system. Because of the pushing of a certain friend and her mom I finally got the courage to press charges. I didn’t expect anything of it. But it turned out I got to bring that asshole to trial. For the trial I had to speak to the girls who were at the party was to find out why he beat me up. They told me it was because I was gay and he was a homophobe. In this day and age I want to share the message that it is important to share hate crimes and press charges. Even in an “open-minded” country like the Netherlands this bullshit still happens. BEING QUIET IS CANCELLED, SPEAK TF UP. Because of an amazing lawyer who took my case pro ‪bono‬, I won the case and the guy had to pay tf up. Of course  no amount of money can turn back time and take back the mental and physical damage that was done to me. But I won. The asshole had to pay up, the incident is in the statistics. So that society is aware that hate crimes are STILL happening.
 
Tho I am not the kinda person to go into much detail. But after pride and being PROUD OF MY GAY BLACK ASS I found it important to stand with the LGBTQ community and keep people aware of what happened to me and still happens to allot of gay people all over the world. Thanks for reading and remember the message to share love and positivity and not hatred.
