I Remember Going Home Last Night

Hello everyone,
this is finally my first original tune "Elwood's Tune". I wrote the lyrics and the melody - for the first time.

Song background:
I wrote the song influenced by the movie "Harvey" from 1950, starring James Stewart. The main character Elwood is a warm and pleasant human being and is starting to have a friendly conversation with everyone he meets. Usually he even invites them for dinner to his home. Even though it's not the only thing the movie is about, I think that in today's day and age - 73 years later - we could use some of this care and friendliness towards others. Maybe even more than ever.

'Le Miroir Brisé' is a folk and vaporous story blending surrealist atmospheres, influenced by the works of William Blake, William Butler Yeats, and Henry Vaughan on a poem of Jacques Prévert,  which revealed very early on an originality that freed him from any school of influence and formed the nucleus of the Surrealist group.

le petit homme de la jeunesse
a cassé son lacet de soulier
et toutes les baraques de la fête
tout d'un coup se sont écroulées
et dans le silence de cette fête
j'ai entendu ta voix heureuse
ta voix déchirée et fragile
enfantine et désolée
venant de loin et qui m'appelait
et j'ai mis ma main sur mon coeur
où remuaient
