Ray La Soul Presents: Space Is The Place 131

Space Is The Place 131 - Deep Space Radio 02-24-2024

EKATA debuts on Data Point and joins the Censor crew with the slick 4 track Videodrome EP. 

A stark-cold light flickers on the VDU of the internal server rack that once provided navigation for the Censor crew as they traverse their known systems and orbit the 3rd Moon: Data Point. 

A system that once forged paths and created wormholes across multiple dimensions, but is now locked on a new channel with EKATA engaging override and now in full control of the whole vessel on this mission. 

EKATA asserts control on the title track Videorome with fast-paced drums and synthesiser energy straight to the control deck. Machine Malfunctionen resets the controls with a darker more tripped out pace with icy leads and tight electro zaps altering the course of the ep by talking straight to the motherboard. Utopia allows EKATA to push the driving force on this ep with a 4/4 drop and pulsing cold lead sounds. Spectro_700 resets the coordinates and allows the crew safe voyage with a crescendo of synth-lines and fast paced drum-edits.

EKATA MACHINE MALFUNCTIONEN

Mika Regards has been DJing and producing music since 2005 and is the co-founder of "Strange But Dance Music" podcast series that has been in operation since 2016.

The purpose and objective of his podcasts are not only to explore all sorts of different facets of Electro and Experimental music but also to reveal the influence on music through the location of the artist. In the past, he has recorded mixes for Dark Science Electro, ARKADA, Modulations, ParallaX, Recreational Therapy, Only For Robots, Public House, Subtle Radio, Gladiocast, Elektropedia Analog K., EMC, Tracklistings, Betamax.

Andreas started djing in 1995, creating mix tapes and playing drum and bass in Philadelphia's underground rave scene from 1997 to 2000 under the moniker "Tygre." Inspired by the darker sounds of electro, techno and drum and bass Tygre returns from a long hiatus to share his love for the music and art of mixing. Andreas lives in San Francisco and studies computer science.

ParallaX 016 | HUMAN REBELLION

UHF is a Spanish electro duo, founded by Milford aka José Castillo and David Aragón. 
They are an old school djs, highly respected in the Madrid electronic scene, and undoubtedly influenced by New Beat, EBM, Synth-Pop and the Detroit sounds.

As producers begins in 2014, releasing their first single called "Breakers Life", included in the compilation Madrid City Breakers. A tribute to the group of breakdancers from Madrid in the late 80's, captured in a cult double ep, with tracks by Boris Divider, E.R.P and Luke Eargoggle among other artists and released on Gladio Operations who, later on, would also become partners of the label.

They have also released on labels such as HC Records, Noise To Meet You, Distrito 91and Borg Recordings among others.

By mere coincidence he rediscovered his love for electro, the music that played a huge part in his youth. This style takes him back to his B-boying days ages ago. Ray still has the records he bought back in those days, records he cherishes. 
So nowadays Ray, aka Ray La Soull, not only mixes his weekly radio show Space Is The Place, he also creates electro tunes under his alias Qamar Sol. 
In case you are wondering what the name Qamar Sol stands for, it means Moon (Arabic) and Sun (Spanish), both celestial bodies that are very dear to him.
