Traveling (Live)

There’s only one kind of police that I like the sound of. I recently went for a forest walk with my friend Sting, and after doing naked yoga and meditating in the moss we laughed at the juxtaposition of blending his sinister and possessive song with my song about letting go with grace. 

To celebrate that my bittersweet baby has been out for a year today I took a break from working on *tHe aLBum* and had tons of fun making this mash-up ✨ 

I blended our vocals, cause we always duet when we’re hiking. I mixed in some bells, synths, arpeggios and the persistent 4/4 kick drum from ‘In the end of all things as we know them I feel bittersweet’ with the iconic arpeggiated guitar riff and drum machines of ‘Every Breath You Take’. Lastly I added an extra snare drum with gated reverb for a finishing punch to the melancholic, nostalgic and danceable blend. 

Sting says hi, he thinks you’re doing great. So do I 🌿

This song documents my transition. It's one of my earliest recordings and is recorded with my old singing voice, pre testosterone hormone treatment. In this version, I recorded new vocals on top of my old singing voice, so that I, in a sense, am singing a duet with myself. My new singing voice is deeper due to testosterone hormone therapy. My old and new self combined.

In this episode we discuss Paul B. Preciado’s 'Testo Junkie: Sex, Drugs and Biopolitics in the Pharmacopornographic Era', a wild mixture of theory and self-experimentaion. Some talking points include queer sex writing, the disturbing and racialized history of the pill, and how we can come to understand the mechanisms of the Pharmacopornographic era.

Testo Junkie by Paul B. Preciado: Autotheory, the Pill and the Pharmacopornographic Era

Raymonde Gaunoux is a Danish-French-American musician, working to promote the visibility of transgender identity in the music industry - which was featured in the 'QUEER ISSUE' of music magazine GAFFA. 

Raymonde Gaunoux delivers vulnerable and queer songs, full of power, faith and love. Through heartfelt vocals and a sympathetic and embracing personality, he fills the room with touching, authentic and abundant music that will, inevitably, find its way to your heart and provide you with an experience you didn't know you were missing. The creative compositions and picturesque lyrics lean towards the sound of Prince ballads, David Bowie ’quirkiness’ and melodic North American indie folk rock.

Before launching his current solo project, Raymonde performed as one half of the electro pop duo Feel Freeze, who were signed with swedish label ‘Icons Creating Evil Art’, having released the EP ‘Future Emotions in a Digital Heart’ (2016), their debut album ‘Feathers and Scars’ (2018) and their recent EP 'Holding Our Breaths Awaiting The Future' (2022).

‘Future Emotions in a Digital Heart’ was the debut release from Feel Freeze and the singles ‘Wet My Tongue’ and ‘Give Me Your Heart’ were featured on british radio (BBC2 & BBC6) as well as danish radio (P6 & P3) and received praise in international blogs such as ‘The Line of Best Fit’, ‘Circuit Sweet ’, ‘JaJaJa Music’ and ‘Wussymag’. 

‘Feathers & Scars’ led to major interviews with Wussymag (US), Gay Star News and Danish National Radio, a sync deal with HBO Nordic series “All American”, as well as a warm up gig for Anne Linnet at the main stage at CPH Pride in 2018, especially due to the gender and lgbtq+ themes on the album. 

Raymonde has toured all around the world, including South East Asia, Europe, Scandinavia and in the U.S. The EP 'Transitions' will be out in the beginning of 2024.
