Written and arranged by Annemarie McGahon of the Cairn String Quartet.
This is the final track on the Railway People album and a haunting tribute to the new arrivals at Auschwitz.

Annemarie travelled to Auschwitz before scoring the string parts for my demos. I thought that was an incredible thing to do and it shows in her arrangements.

This song was written after visiting Auschwitz in 2015.  I didn't realise that it would lead to returning there with someone who experienced and survived this place in the 1940's, but that's what happened.
Returning to Birkenau with Eva Kor was a moment in my life that I will never forget. Recording her voice for the end of this song was a massively poignant moment and I feel very lucky and proud to call her a friend now. 
Eva read my poem, How Could It Be, which was also written after visiting Auschwitz for the first time.
