So, was in the mood for something long, evolving, and sort of Tangerine Dreamy. Normally I go full on Mellotron, and bring out the Moogs, ARP's, and VCS3's (VST versions of course), but since I'm going through a Tal Bassline 101 phase (making tracks with just this synth alone), I decided to add to my "Room101" collection.
I guess its a bit self indulgent, so if you want to give it a go, make yourself comfortable, its pretty long :)

A remix of Chocolate Rain I did for a contest around 2007, but never ended up submitting. I gave myself specific rules for this one:

1. Had to be done entirely in Ableton Live using only built-in instruments. (I was trying to learn the program).
2. At least 50% original tracks had to be used. I have a habit of completely rearranging songs.
3. Maximum 5 hours from launch to export of track. The ticking clock. Part of my productivity problem is never having a deadline.
4. Had to include all vocals and piano from original. Some remixes use a snippet of the chorus and call it a day. I wanted the entire song in there, along with the most identifiable music track.

I never did any mastering, and it's definitely an old-school approach in this era of hyper-editing, but I enjoyed doing it and hope you like it. Thanks to Tay Zonday for making the source tracks available.
