To say RAYTONA has come full circle as an artist is an understatement. He was born and raised in Northern California’s Solano County, which he calls “The Melting Pot” due to its multicultural multi-ethnic population. “We’re less than an hour from the big city, but yet country at the same time. We got fishing, hunting, farming, ranches, we’re right next to the wine country of Napa Valley (home of Sonoma Raceway, being a huge NASCAR and racing fan) and within a half hour of the State Capitol of Sacramento. It’s what made me who I am. I was exposed to different ends of the music spectrum. The neighborhood where I grew up played R&B, funk, hip hop, old rock and roll, heavy metal and country music. My parents loved classical music, big band music and crooners like Frank Sinatra, Bing Crosby and Dean Martin. I love all types of music. I’m the only guy I know who grew up break dancing, scratching hip hop records, listening to soul music and hip hop, then later hanging with my country buds going fishing, hunting and shooting guns while listening to country music and rock and roll. I got friends of every musical genre and I love it all.” From breakdancing in the 80’s, to signing a record deal in the early 90’s with Bay Area’s platinum artists E-40 & B-Legit’s $ickWid’It Records, RAYTONA, then known as “RHYTHMX”  released a hip hop album called “Long Overdue”. “I never thought of being a “rapper” but, I loved the music and was so heavily influenced by The Beastie Boys. They showed me that you don’t have to dress a certain way or be a certain race to make the music that I was so inspired by. They had their own look, style and sound. They combined rock and roll and hip hop and that’s what gave me the confidence to be able to make music.” RAYTONA is also well known in the hip hop community for being a music producer (E-40, Baby Bash, Talib Kweli, One Block Radius, Z-Man, Dizzee Rascal, etc.) to name a few. 
Now, just when you thought you got RAYTONA figured out, look no further than NASCAR’s own phenomenon, Kyle Busch aka Rowdy Busch.  He became the first driver in NASCAR history, to have his own theme song entitled “Rowdy Busch” in 2010, written and performed by RAYTONA500 (He adds the 500 when he does music for NASCAR). Kyle “Rowdy” Busch uses this song as his driver intro song and racetracks play it every time he wins. They’ve played every year since he made it and it still continues to this day. When Kyle Busch became the first driver in NASCAR history to consecutively win all three NASCAR series (Nationwide Series, Camping World Truck Series and the Sprint Cup Series) at Bristol Motor Speedway, RAYTONA 500 did it again, releasing the song “Bristol Sweep” for his buddy Kyle “Rowdy” Busch.  By this time, all the sports writers (NASCAR, USA Today, SB Nation, Sports Illustrated, Racing Illustrated, etc.) started writing articles about RAYTONA500 and even the media (Speed Channel, Fox Sports, TNT, ESPN, etc.) started mentioning his name and songs on TV. Even Fox Sports and Speed Channel gave RAYTONA500 and his producers a contract to play his NASCAR songs on television. He then released another song called “The Kyle Busch Show”, which Kyle’s own company, Kyle Busch Motorsports, made a t-shirt out of the song and now, it’s a known slogan for Kyle Busch’s fans via twitter (hashtag handle: #KBShow).  But what makes RAYTONA500’s NASCAR songs so special is that, he gives ALL of the proceeds of his Kyle Busch songs to help Kyle’s “The Kyle Busch Foundation” for children. “I first did my NASCAR song “It’s a NASCAR Nation” back in 2007, but really got no help from NASCAR. I don’t blame them. They do racing. I do music. I think I was too far ahead with my thinking of bridging the gap between racing and music and using music to help raise money for charities. “If someone like Kyle Busch who has millions and millions of fans buy the song, then a foundation could raise millions without having to lift a finger. All Kyle had to do was talk about it in his interviews and television appearances. It was my pal Kyle Busch who stepped up and used my song and considers me a friend because of what I did to help him and his wife Samantha Busch, help his foundation. My goal was to raise 1million dollars for them, but now I want to keep on raising more money doing other NASCAR related and racing songs to help other charities as well. People will buy a song on iTunes for 99cents way faster than write a check and have to send it off. I wanted to make songs to help NASCAR widen their audience while donating proceeds to a NASCAR charity by making music. I have so many ideas for upcoming songs and ways to generate revenue through music. I can’t wait to show the world. And a huge thanks to all who have supported this great cause.” ALL of RAYTONA500’s songs are on iTunes, most digital downloading sites and can be heard on television and at most NASCAR racetracks during race day.
Now, let’s get to this DIP-HOP (country/hip hop) music of RAYTONA.  He just released “AMERICAN SOIL” The Mixtape (promo cd) and already has rave reviews from music critics and peers for blending both the genres. He’s currently finishing the full album of “AMERICAN SOIL” as well as working on songs for upcoming potential releases and for other country hip hop artists. “I want to make country hip hop songs that can get regular play on country radio and that’s tough, because I know that country hip hop isn’t considered by a lot of country music fans to be “country music”. But with the huge recent sales of songs like "Dirt Road Anthem" by Jason Aldean and songs like "Cruise" by Florida Georgia Line, which has elements of Pop and Hip Hop, I’m trying to find that “fine line” that actually works. That’s why I spend so much time writing credible material, good stories and good music that everyone can relate to and still keep it fun. I love country music dearly and don’t want to make the country audience upset. I’m just trying to make it palatable and tangible for everyone to listen to and accept. I always loved country music but, I thought that some of it just needed a cool beat behind it. I’m really excited to release this new album. It’s a lot more country than people are going to expect after hearing my Mixtape. One thing is for sure, I’m trying to let the newer country audience know who Chris Ledoux was and how his music influenced me to love country music. I always use Ledoux references in my songs and even redid one of his songs “Making Ends Meet” releasing it on my mixtape and my album. That song is very personal to me because it was written after I got laid off from my job of over 20 years, I lost my Dad and my dog all within the same year. I was living out a real country song. Plus, I got to remake a Chris Ledoux song and that to me, was my tribute to him for inspiring me in the first place. (Chris Ledoux passed away in 2005). With the upcoming release of his album “AMERICAN SOIL”, RAYTONA promises that songs like “She Rides”, “Home”, “Only Had One”, “Runnin’ Late”, "Beerigation" and “I Can’t Feel A Thing” will captivate Country listeners and show them a different side to country/hip hop aka Dip-Hop. I call it “Dip-Hop” because all my buddies back home love to chew dip and listen to hip hop and country. So, I call it Dip-Hop. It’s amazing when you’re in a duck blind or hunting with buddies and they are dippin’ and spittin’ talking about the latest hip hop and country song. These days, folks listen to everything. It’s not so one sided anymore. I think the world is definitely ready for some RAYTONA DIP-HOP music.” 
RAYTONA splits his time in between, the Bay Area, L.A. and Nashville. When RAYTONA isn’t being busy an artist, songwriter, producer, philanthropist, manager (artists, songwriters & producers), he loves spending time with family, friends, helping various organizations, hunting, shooting, watching racing, playing Fantasy Football and going hiking.
