Following Yotto’s roof-raiser, Green continues to scorch the new year with another evocative dispatch. Please welcome young Dutch talent Mees Salome and his remarkable label debut…

‘Ya Amar’ is steeped in emotion. Its Arabic title translating to ‘my moon’ or ‘my most beautiful’, there’s serious skin-rippling movement in the sweeping strings and gradual, unhurried-yet-stately pace of the narrative. Majestic, touching and just on the right side of epic.

‘Zero’ takes nothing away from this: Stripped back and driven by a subtly bumpy, turbulent kickdrum, once again we’re eased into Mees’ dramatic narrative with pace and measure. Slowly, surely, overwhelmingly, he whisks us off to parts unknown on some perfectly tempered synths and sweeping motifs.

Dreamy-yet-dramatic with all the right mystical, techno noir touches, Joris and Edwin know a good record when they spot it. We think you’ll be hearing a lot more from Mees in the new future. Green means go…

What makes everybody's darling duo ​Monkey Safari so special is surely their authenticity; with their striking debut album ‘Odyssey’​, this meant producing the same kind of tracks they were playing as they toured nightclubs and festivals around the world, rather than simply a listening album. The result was a dance floor artwork. And while they may be perfectionists, they’re certainly no purists, carefully handpicking remixers they see as most capable of continuing their vision for the album.

Split in 3 separate EPs, ​‘Odyssey Remixed – One’​, ​‘Two’​, and ​‘Three’ will be released in ​May​, ​June​, and ​July 2018​, featuring reworks of the original album tracks by the master himself, ​Carl Cox​, international stars ​Hernan Cattaneo​, Guy J​, ​Musumeci​, Tensnake ​and Reboot​, studio geniuses ​Dubspeeka, Hannes Bieger, ROD, ​and Phil Moffa​, as well as up-and-coming talent ​Avidus​, ​Trivmph​, and​ ​Hommage label co-chief ​Karl Friedrich​.

Guy J: ​“I Loved doing the remix for Monkey Safari. The Original had great elements to work with and after listening to all the album I was inspired to go in the direction I chose for the remix.”

Musumeci: ​"Boulogne Billancourt from Monkey Safari is that kind of track that combines perfect harmony and rhythm in a great blend that works great on the dancefloor. The chords in this music composition are epic but at the same time leave a lot of space for reconstruction using different point of views. When I first listened to the original version of Boulogne Billancourt I immediately felt between the lines of the music texture, a piano hook, and a strong acid bass synth, so I added them. The bass line I played in the intro and in the breakdown of my remix, simply reflects the original vibe but according to my vision of the track. It adds a bit of a suspended feeling right before going back to the action with a more groovy drum and bass lines.“

Dubspeeka: ​“Being asked to lay hands on one track of the last Monkey Safari album was a big pleasure for me, as I have been a fan of their work for a while. Even though it was rather challenging, as the original is a perfectly produced floorkiller. So I tried to bring the track into a more dirty direction with a long breakdown, but without leaving the original`s idea too much. I hope people enjoy the results.”

Trivmph: ​“For our remix of ‚Sign’ we took a very minimalistic approach. The vocal should speak for itself and (in contrast to the original) we were aiming for a less rave oriented version, for special moments at open airs...“

The 83rd release on Nikko.Z's Dopamine Music welcomes Simos Tagias back to the label for a brand new EP entitled 'Revolt'. The Greek artist has been one of his country's brightest stars in progressive house with a discography that features releases on Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat Music, Proton Music and Sound Avenue. It has been a quiet year for Simos thus far with just a lone EP and one remix to his credit, thus making his latest project all the more anticipated. For an artist whose groovy, progressive minded creations are renowned by both his fans and contemporaries, Simos may have raised the bar yet again with 'Revolt'. From its astral beginnings you're immediately captivated as tight beats, finely tuned percussion and rhythmic waves converge for the ultimate fluid framework. Spacey yet emotive, the main break shifts the narrative with a buzzing crescendo, perfectly setting up a third act of symphonic overlays, rounding out the nine minute journey. The companion piece 'Pothos' is equally stunning with its buoyant beats and drummy, techno inspired groove. Setting a dramatic tone from the outset, effects fire through the framework before a phasing theme sparks a dynamic moment as the main break commences. Perhaps going down as one of the Greek artists most colossal interludes, waves of white noise blanket an epic lead line, converging for the ultimate sonic moment as the beats drop and your taken away into an epic finale. Definitely one geared for peak time play that should fair quite well with the festival season in full swing.

The incongruent sound of off-kilter percussive clicking ripples through melodic brilliance – Dan Sieg returns to a well-travelled Mango Alley, "Something's Not Clicking Right" creates a new aural pathway. A returning iconic figure generates a frisson of drama; an expectant audience filled with eager anticipation. Quivver makes his mark once again, firing with accustomed precision. Clarity of purpose and unrivalled techno credentials create an aural landscape of monochromatic beauty. Brilliant patterns coalesce from a trinity of distortion, reverb and delay as they pan across the stereo spectrum in dizzying glory. The infinite shades between black and white swirl in patterns and a bedrock of four/four beat is juxtaposed against freeform melodic interpretation that reaches its zenith before exploding in wall of mesmerising sound.

Australian flair combines with sonic beauty as Luka Sambe creates a new pulsating soundscape. Taking centre stage, a stellar cast of pulsating rhythmic components and flowing melodic creativity converge in a new narrative. Percussive vectors align themselves in clean, sharp lines creating a chessboard pattern from where an infinite array of patterns emerge from rippling keys and searing regal synths. Arpeggios dance lightly, comprised of complex, ever-evolving tessellations that refer to themes resonant where something is clearly right.

Different shades of white create a new world of light; they illuminate and elucidate in tales that ignite.

With support from the likes of Guy Mantzur, Khen, Guy J, Nick Warren, Hernan Cattaneo, Navar, Sonic Union, Marc Poppcke, Tim Engelhardt, D-Nox, BOg, Chicola and many others this man is starting to make quite a name for himself as a producer. We’re delighted to have him at Monog.

The original mix of Wake delivers an outstanding melodic techno groove filled with solid beats and a dreamy atmosphere. The tight drums provide a steady rhythmic flow while the bassline grabs all the attention thanks to its sublime ebbing and flowing. On top of the bass we find sweet melodies that offer stark contrasts with the gritty nature of the groove making this an absolute must have.

Last Night On Earth label boss Sasha has joined forces with the blossoming Swedish artist La Fleur for a collaboration "born out of a growing mutual respect for each other’s music and career path."

Their joint track, 'Förbindelse' (Swedish for 'connection), is a fruitful and potent dancefloor enhancer that showcases both Sasha and La Fleur's newfound sonic connection with one another.

"When I first approached Sasha to present some music for his label I couldn't have dreamt he would suggest a collab together," La Fleur says. "It was a great honour to say yes to the challenge. It has taken some time and a lot of drafts going back and forth to end up with this track together, when it just felt right."

‘Förbindelse’ drops on Last Night On Earth on Friday, October 26.
