We've now been at this since 2010 and over the years we've really tried to deliver the kind of house music (and beyond) that we would play, listen and dance to ourselves.   We really tried to avoid the dangerous traps of following trends which in the long run can water down labels to just a music portal instead of a music brand with character. Basically, we aim to deliver our own musical personality via artists and producers that we love and respect. To sum things up, we are proud to present our second label compilation, Local Talk - 13 Years Later.
 
In part one of our 13 Years Later compilation we reached out to both regular in-house producers as well as some brand new friends on the house scene.   As always, we try and aim for a wide spectrum of styles and you'll hear everything from classic house, deep house, soulful house, Detroit(ish) house, broken, from some of our fave producers like Soul Renegades, Nico Lahs, Laroye, Alex Attias & Sohan Wilson. We also included producers like envee, Shaka, ManooZ, Dan Tenor-City & Tom Funk, Rawson And Jackson which we believe is doing exciting music and should be heard by many more.   

We sincerely hope you will enjoy this selection of dance MUSIC as much as we do and that there's something for everyone on our compilation.

Nic Hanson is the Phily born singer, producer, and instrumentalist who joins Strausz bringing his signature sound and ability to seamlessly blend soul, funk, salsa, and hip-hop. His collaborations include Moon Boots, Moods, and Kraak & Smaak. Nic Hanson’s quality contribution elevates ‘Tropical Electrical’ to another level.
Here Boogie Angst welcomes Art Of Tones on board. Renowned house, and disco producer Ludovic Llorca, has unleashed a striking remix infused with a fiery disco groove. Radiating with high-energy from the start, intricate guitar riffs lock into a fierce, pulsating bassline. Layers of lush synths sweep across the soundscape, adding depth and warmth, while brass arrangements take centre stage during the chorus. Blazing horns and rich percussive textures, create an opulent, feel-good pop-disco sound that’s impossible to resist.  Art Of Tones cleverly shifts the original’s tropical essence into a more vibrant dancefloor direction. Brazilian producer Diogo Strausz makes his return to RNT with an incredible pair of new tracks, each remixed to perfection respectively by Kai Alce and Lex Wolf. Canto Das Trés Raças is a classic of legendary proportions, and Diogo’s new cover version both honors the original and brings a fresh new take, entirely re-recorded and primed for the dance floor. Ever-reliable Atlanta deep house don Kai Alce turns in an incredible soulful remix that feels like an instant classic. On the flip, Diogo’s original tune Caramba strikes a lighter tone, with arpeggiated synths and a cheeky vocal, giving Kraftwerk meets Marcos Valle at the disco. RNT/Make-A-Dance stalwart Lex Wolf bumps the tempo up a few clicks, looping and filtering synths and an extemporaneous vocal sample into a hypnotic, driving club track.

Here is the first single on Beatscope by St Brice aka Brice Bertran, former glory of the French Touch thanks to great productions like the Rouge à Lèvres project as well as notable remixes for artists such as P18, Hakan Lidbo or Martin Venetjoki... 
Come Around is a deep house gem combining gentle piano chords with a punchy bassline and a vocal sample easily recognizable to 80s funk experts. 
Co-produced with Manuel Perez, the original version and the club mix of this floor-filler refer to the golden age of a style of house music that has become timeless, while the Mangotronique remix offers an effective disco-percussive approach to the track.

"Para Mytho Disco" is a futuristic mix of sounds. It's far away from the dark monotone techno and trance music from Kapote's hometown Berlin. Instead, he creates warm, friendly atmospheres full of sonic colors and little musical surprises.
Kapote's knowledge of music history and his background as a jazz piano student and son of classic music composer are clearly inside this music. Before turning into a DJ and electronic music producer, he has been playing in bands since he was 13 years old.  The album is full of emotional chord progressions played by Kapote on various keyboards. Sometimes reminding music from the past without being retro at all. The bass lines and melodies are inspired by jazz fusion from the 1970ies. And he programmed syncopated grooves that come from Afro-American dance music. There are influences from Japanese electronic music (Yellow Magic Orchestra), from 1980ies Synthwave and from 1990ies electronica (like Squarepusher and Luke Vibert).

12 Riva Starr Feat. Nic Hanson - (I'll Be Your) Paradise (Extended Mix) [Snatch! Records]

Bay Area born and raised DJ and producer Papa Lu is family to Soul Clap, and he recently made his move to Los Angeles where he is making his mark on the house music scene. Lu is steadily building his collection of acid tinged, funky house burners, while also exploring Latin house.

For his debut on Soul Clap Records, he teams up with our friend, producer and the multihypenate The Whooligan on this thick track titled “Starting To Rise”, which continues the disco house vibe he brought with ASTU on "Red Hot". Once the beat drops, a strong Latin rhythm takes over with layers of syncopated percussion, adding a strong Cumbia house flavor to the diverse mix.

Lu's recent run of parties includes performances with Sven Väth, Walker & Royce, and Todd Terry

Scruniversal's sub label Tunes Delivery invites Moscow scene veteran Leonid Lipelis to don his Beard In Dust moniker for their third instalment, one which dips into various different eras of dance history for inspiration. There's a distinctly late 80s feel to opening tune 'Music of the U', complete with sampled bell stabs and the kind of beats that wouldn't be out of place on an S'Express or early Coldcut house affair. 'The Armenian Break' and 'City of Love' look back even further, back to the female-fronted disco efforts of the 70s, the latter adding a touch of Balearic flourishes. 'Abstractish P' circles around some serene arpeggios, with rave whistles and, as it progresses, twisting guitar notes, lending it an individual air, while closer 'RoRyaRe' nods to ExCel-era 808 State with some nice bleepery before settling into more progressive headnodding territory and some distinctive synth play.
