Italian producer Birdee launches his brand-new imprint Hot City with ‘Your Love’, a vibrant nu-disco gem featuring the powerhouse UK vocalist that is Alexis Victoria Hall. 
Known for his refined take on modern disco, Italian-born producer Birdee spent time crafting this record in LA’s Silverlake during a sun-drenched creative stint. Blending Californian sunshine with European disco heritage, this uplifting cut brings shimmering strings, a classic bassline, and Hall’s soaring vocals all together for a feel-good anthem built for soulful dancefloors and sunset sessions. “I wanted the first Hot City release to feel joyful and warm. ‘Your Love’ is exactly that,” says Birdee. Longtime house purveyors Natural Rhythm make their debut on Robsoul Recordings with a three-track statement: the ‘Mighty Minotaur’ EP. Featuring the heavyweight title cut, the disco-tipped ‘Yo Disco’, and its stripped-down counterpart ‘Yo Drums’, the release marks a powerful reunion for the duo.
The spark came from a single piece of gear: the Moog Minotaur synthesizer, which provided the EP’s rumbling bassline and its namesake. As the duo describe it, “we loved the way that analog Moog sound comes into the mix so much, we visualized a mythical (and mighty) minotaur bursting out of the woods – and it felt right.”
Equally important is the spirit of reconnection. Though now separated by distance – one member based in Southern California, the other living further north in Canada – the pair leaned on technology to re-establish their creative partnership. The result is a project that nods to their earliest days: looping grooves, hands-on effects manipulation, analog filters, echoes, and that unmistakable warmth achieved by recording straight through a valve DJ mixer.
In true Natural Rhythm fashion, the EP captures the loose, groovy energy of their legendary live sets, when the duo would haul an entire studio rig onto the stage to create house music in real time. That raw and spontaneous ethos aligns perfectly with Robsoul’s own heritage, making ‘Mighty Minotaur’ both a fitting debut and a triumphant homecoming to their roots.

The minute hand shuddered... and jerked backward.

The bang came again, louder, like a gunshot wrapped in thunder.

Then the power surged back. Lights flickered on.

Star Creature really do have a remarkable knack for pulling lost gems from obscurity and introducing them to the modern day. This time around things are no different with a double hitting 7" bundle which showcases some of the rawest, bang the box meets funk from Chicago. Classic sounds all round and very highly recommended. A reminder of what it should be.

Brazilian Diogo Strausz returns to Razor-N-Tape with Gravity, a disco-boogie opus featuring the inimitable voice of Brandon Markell Holmes.
