Underground System returns to Razor-N-Tape with the Looking In EP - a 5-track offering of fresh originals and remixes. Ranging from low-slung balearic grooves, to driving left-field funk and urgent uptempo backbeats, the record is a fine-tuning of the US sound, complete with their signature flute and synth soundscapes, driving percussion, and catchy offbeat vocal hooks. On the B-side, RNT mainstays Nenor and Clive From Accounts take two of the tunes into clubbier territory, with a pair of remixes primed for the dance floor.

@somethinsanctified have been crafting some utterly sublime releases over the last few years having built up a super working relationship with @Citizensofvice and here they are back again with what is quite probably their finest release to date 'Happens at night'.

New Zealand disco-boogie outfit Flamingo Pier plant some Brooklyn roots with their fresh new ‘Beneath the Neon EP’ on Razor-N-Tape. Known for parties in East London and their massive hometown festival, as well as previous releases on Soundway, the Kiwi collective deliver a trio of new songs that solidify and expand their signature danceable blue-eyed indie-soul sound.

Lead off single How 2 Feel shows a clubbier side of the band, with a pulsating house rhythm track and layers of angular synth stabs, vibey horn lines, and vocal chants. Beneath the Neon and Remedy are more familiar Flamingo Pier territory, upbeat indie disco anthems that boast incendiary vocal hooks, funky guitar work, and crisp production by Luke Walker.

Rounding out the EP are remixes by Chicago house legend Glenn Underground, and RNT co-head JKriv, whose mix features a guest appearance by Afro-boogie royalty Steve Monite.

Oozing with hazy sun, Beneath the Neon is the perfect soundtrack to soak up the dog days of summer.

This album is a deep dive into French House—where analog funk, industrial grit, and robotic precision collide. Built on electric bass, wah-textured rhythm guitar, distorted clavinet stabs, and punchy drum-machine patterns, each track moves like a pulse in an underground city. Vinyl crackle, rising noise sweeps, DJ-style beat repeats, and dramatic bass drops shape a sound that feels raw, physical, and alive.

At its core, the album blends French touch filters, 70s funk attitude, and the cold mechanics of early electro, all wrapped in a late-night, street-level aesthetic. 

The project moves through fog, steel, glass, and grit—tracks that throb like subway tunnels, shimmer like city lights on wet pavement, and punch with the force of a basement club at 2 a.m. This is not polished disco. This is brutal, gritty, cinematic French Funk, designed to feel like a continuous DJ set moving through districts, alleys, and forgotten corners of the night.

The album stands as a statement:
raw, futuristic, and unmistakably KJD.
