I figure if I do a little bit of soundtrack work for my own writing, it might give me the motivation to keep working on it? Anyway, I really wanted to soundtrack one of my own scenes.

This goes under a scene where the main cast is chased back across the desert to their airship by a horrid amalgamation of branches, disease, crimson pulsating light, and darkness - just after successfully forging an incredibly strong weapon of light that might hold the key to eventually defeating it.

After hearing about the release of Descent 3's source code -- and the fact that was nearly 25 years in the making -- I wanted to go back to some of my oldest riffs and reinterpret them into new songs more deserving of the name.

So... here's one of those new songs.  Sorry I haven't got anything more interesting to say :)

One of my first-ever big music projects was to score a large mod for Descent 3, which only ever got partially released.  After hearing about the release of that game's source code a few weeks ago I wanted to go back to a few of the riffs and sorta rudimentary atmospheres I created back then and reinterpret them into new songs that would be... well, more deserving of being called "songs" :)  Like feeding on myself for inspiration, ouroboros style :D

This is one such new song.  Most of the bits and pieces I used as jumping-off points come from tracks that would have played in the final level of the mod if it had been finished, but, let's face it, a lot of the stuff I wrote back then ended up sounding the same anyway.  So, any folks who actually remember what was released of Army of Haloon will probably recognize at least some of these ideas :)
