David Morales spins at The Liverpool Disco Festival tomorrow (Saturday 6th May), and to celebrate the occasion he’s delivered a sublime DJ Mag exclusive mix. You can listen to it above.

Liverpool Disco Festival, which is uniting with Southport Weekender’s 30th anniversary celebration this weekend, brings together some of the most iconic global names from the disco, house, garage, soul and funk spectrum.

Spinning across the weekend are D-Train (Live), Ultra Naté (Live), DJ Jazzy Jeff, Tony Humphries – who plays a 4-hour Zanzibar set – Joey Negro and many more, including Morales, who spins a disco set as well as an after-party house set.

Speaking about Liverpool Disco Festival, Morales told DJ Mag, “It’s an honour to be part of such an incredible line-up for Southport Weekender’s 30th anniversary.  They are always about good music with soul.

On his exclusive DJ Mag disco mix, he said, “It’s a pleasure to be able to play some disco classics, happy feel-good records. It’s something that is missing from today’s music. I also threw in a couple of my disco reworks – it was fun recording that mix.”

Morales is currently finishing a new Red Zone project and a new album, titled ‘Blind Colors’, as well as a new single with Janice Robinson featuring Melonie Daniels Walker.

@Birdee has had a glorious last couple of years with an Ibiza residency and gigs all over the globe from China to Australia.

He has also released with Glitterbox, ISM, Partyfine and Re-Loved. Indeed, he has two ridiculously hot tracks out right now on Blacksoul  and Hot Sunday Records.

The energy he creates with his DJ sets is also renowned. As such we asked him to appear at the launch party for our Le Visiteur Presents event in conjunction with The Unity Agency in London this coming Saturday at Oslo in Hackney.

Two lads from Newcastle, UK. We have spent the last 10 years DJing together under the name RJ, playing regular gigs locally to supporting big acts around Europe. 

Sharing a love of House Music since the turn of 2000, artists such as Copyright, Soulsearcher, Sandy Rivera and Harry Romero, and labels Defected, Sulphuric, Subliminal, Strictly Rhythm were heavily influenced in our sets. Our tastes changed by 2007 where Chicago/Jackin House had become our focus, the adaptability of the music was what captured it for us, being able to use soul, hiphop, Jazz or disco samples in a more upbeat fashion gave us something unique to offer as the genre within the UK was relatively unknown. Fast Forward 10 years and we entered the lower levels of BPM looking at those original Disco and soul records which provided us those sensational funky loops & samples 10 years previously has kept our fascination of re-edits and reworks of originals. 

2018 kicked off our Strut2Disco events, a party designed to offer the coastal area of Newcastle a insight to those artists & influential DJ's providing us with some of the most creative Disco edits and reworks out there, past and present.
