This week's guest DJ was "Harlem Dance Club", who lives in Haarlem in the Netherlands, and is a hugely talented producer who has released countless tracks since he started writing music in 2017.  His full bio is below, which is excellently written and makes a cracking good read :-)

In the heart of Haarlem, where the tulips bloom in sync with the beat, Harlem Dance Club emerged as a symphony of the city’s soul. As a child, the pulsating lifeblood of disco and funk coursed through his veins, a rhythmic legacy carried on the winds of his Dutch homeland.

It was more than music; it was a call to which his spirit responded, igniting a fiery passion that would illuminate his path as a maestro of melodies. With each passing day, Harlem Dance Club honed his artistry, his hands weaving the timeless essence of disco-funk with the electric pulse of contemporary electronica.

His creations became anthems of the night, a fusion of heart-thumping beats and velvet harmonies that beckoned the world to dance in the name of love. His discography, a mosaic of sound, featured on illustrious labels such as Boogie Brunch Records, Tropical Disco Records, Pink Funk, Boogie Land Music, and Hot Gorilla Records.

Slo Motion Potion With Fingerman November 2024

We come together once again to showcase Aterral's growth over the last year with an undeniably hard-hitting compilation. Our fourth anniversary VA is special, as it brings forth some of our most recent family members and puts them aside older ones.

As part of CUATRO we bring you Black Loops with 'Balance & Harmony', an elegant blend of eclectic sounds and a jerky guitar wah. Carlo & Baloo follow with 'Best Maldito', a track bursting with an infectious rhythm. Intr0beatz’s 'Where The Party At' delves into ambient depth with rippling synths. Marina Trench delivers 'Because We', featuring a playful piano melody and upbeat energy that pushes boundaries with its lively touch.

Caleb Jackson’s 'The Partylife' fuses high energy, gospel influences, and an acidic bassline. Tatie Dee & Ams contribute 'Underwater', a futuristic, bubbly piece with progressive elements. Emanuele Barilli’s 'Midnight Forty' takes us back to the 90s with a trance-infused, breakbeat house sound that resonates with nostalgia. 'Summer Ending' by Horsemen brings a jazz-swing groove paired with a deep, thumping bassline, perfectly capturing the wistful end-of-summer mood. Airplane Mood & Tali Freeman’s 'Trust' offers a soulful, mystical finale with Khadija as a vocalist, to close off our compilation.

THE GRIPS

Two lads from Newcastle, UK. We have spent the last 10 years DJing together under the name RJ, playing regular gigs locally to supporting big acts around Europe. 

Sharing a love of House Music since the turn of 2000, artists such as Copyright, Soulsearcher, Sandy Rivera and Harry Romero, and labels Defected, Sulphuric, Subliminal, Strictly Rhythm were heavily influenced in our sets. Our tastes changed by 2007 where Chicago/Jackin House had become our focus, the adaptability of the music was what captured it for us, being able to use soul, hiphop, Jazz or disco samples in a more upbeat fashion gave us something unique to offer as the genre within the UK was relatively unknown. Fast Forward 10 years and we entered the lower levels of BPM looking at those original Disco and soul records which provided us those sensational funky loops & samples 10 years previously has kept our fascination of re-edits and reworks of originals. 

2018 kicked off our Strut2Disco events, a party designed to offer the coastal area of Newcastle a insight to those artists & influential DJ's providing us with some of the most creative Disco edits and reworks out there, past and present.
