Re:Circulation is a new mix series which will feature older tunes that either never made it onto a Body&Soul mix, or classics that did but I want to revisit and revive them by mixing them with different tracks, and also there will be a few new tunes (mostly when none of the tunes in my library will fit!). Circulation was the first Body&Soul mix, so the title seemed fitting lol. I have a good bit of tunes that just didn't fit in (it's the land of misfit tunes!) and kind of got left on the backburner, but they're great tunes, so they aren't "rejects" lol. FYI! Enjoy the mix. Northampton, UK, producer Wyman makes his long awaited return to Smooth N Groove with his Detractor LP. One year in the making and two years since his last release 'Money of Fools' which received solid support from DnB's heavy hitters! We can honestly say it has been well worth the wait as Wyman provides us with straight up vibes that showcase his signature production style throughout.

Featuring ten divers cuts that won't disappoint! Setting the scene and going straight in with the opening track 'Betari Box' featuring deep bass textures and catchy vocals. 'Diamond Sutra' follows suit with a slightly darker tone and a floor shredding, tearing bass line. Fast forward through the LP and Wyman switches things up with the title track 'Detractor' featuring delicious piano vibes, dreamy strings and lavish drum patterns. Finishing out the LP with 'Cyane' which has the listener immersed between soulful depths, jazz samples and a killer bouncy bass drop! Simply put, this is Wyman's best work to date and arguably one of the best releases on the imprint.

"Magic Lamp" is the second song in a 3-part that tells a surreal story about getting high in a cemetery, being visited by the ghost of Razzlekhan's Turkish grandfather, and trading grandpa some weed in exchange for a magic lamp he won from Ataturk in backgammon. After some negotiation and testing out the lamp, Razzlekhan gets high with her grandpa, who begins to warn her about the lamp, and then gets too high and forgets what he's about to say. After Razzlekhan cuts him off, she leaves him to take an Uber back to hell, and is then visited by the magic genie who resides inside the lamp. From there, Razzlekhan uncovers a shocking surprise about the creepy genie.

Razzkelhan wrote this 3-part song in a single sitting on a Tuesday morning at 9am, COMPLETELY SOBER (believe it or not). She had a very clear vision of what the song’s story was, and imagined the music video from inception. The song just flowed, and so she wrote it all at once. 

But, there was a problem: it was too long. 

She wasn’t sure what to do because the song was a complete story, and if she cut anything out, important details would be missing. Then she realized that she could actually chop the song into 3 parts, since it consisted of 3 main acts. After adding 3 dope choruses, she had 3 new songs.

Razzlekhan’s grandpa is played by Razzlekhan's cousin, Northern California-based female rapper, Spezshal K.

The song was produced by Harrisburg-based Producer and musical artist, Keyzus, who also has a small part at the end of the song, featuring a secret “Easter Egg” that has an inside joke from the recording studio, Quad Studios in NYC.

Razzelkhan is a female comedic rapper based in NYC. She’s often referred to as the “Versace Bedouin” ( #versacebedouin on IG) or “The Crocodile of Wall Street” (#crocodileofwallstreet on IG) for her nomadic tendencies, flashy fashion, and business savvy. 

Razzlekhan has always rooted for the underdog, and hopes her music will bring a voice to underdogs and misfits everywhere, especially in the Middle East. While her musical lyrics are often controversial and even cringeworthy, she fiercely believes that it’s important to voice different ideas and perspectives, even if they are unpopular. 

Razzlekhan is heavily influenced by North Africa and East Asia, both of which places she formerly resided. Her style is an eclectic mix of modern and timeless—mixing surrealist concepts with bedouin style and trap culture. 

Artists that have inspired and influenced Razzlekhan include: Die Antwoord, Awkwafina, Mickey Avalon, Tierra Whack, The Whitest Kids U’ Know’s Trevor Moore, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Princess Nokia, Busta Rhymes, Kid Cudi, Ratatat, Gorillaz, Tunisian composter Hedi Jouini, Cairokee, Oka and Ortega, , and various other musicians and artists from North Africa and Eastern Turkey/Kurdistan. 

When Razzlekhan isn’t working on her rap, she’s usually writing code or being a bad boss lady, as she is CEO of two tech companies.
