Dutch-native @tjade-de-vries marks his maiden release on These Eyes this July with the two-track Balancing Act EP. It continues a standout 2021 for the young talent, which has seen him release on Live at Robert Johnson already this year.

Balancing Act leads the charge, taking no prisoners with a gritty, acid-flecked bassline. Chilling hords soon converge upon uplifting synth rolls, to form a well-balanced dancefloor cut. Means To An End brings things to a close, a near six-minute number that pulls deeply on the heartstrings as soothing pads merge with hard-hitting percussion throughout.

Tjade is one of the most exciting prospects to come out of the Netherlands in recent years. Regularly gracing established labels in the form of Live at Robert Johnson, Mule Musiq and many more besides, several of electronic music’s most-esteemed have picked up his productions in recent years. Most notably is 2019’s Koi Jaye, a track that springboarded him into the global spotlight thanks to plays at DGTL, Dekmantel and AVA by the likes of Palms Trax, Job Jobse and Hunee to name a few.

French DJ, Estelle P is the somewhat of a Renaissance woman, founder of Cahiers Électroniques, she launched her own non-profit organisation to run her own parties. She has also runs her own radio show ‘Hold-Up’ on esteemed platform Rinse France and through her activist endeavours encourages women in electronic music through a streaming program scheduled in Clubbing TV. There really is little that Estelle does not have her creative touch on.

Above all else she is a wicked DJ with a devious taste in beats, from industrial music (techno, electro, bass) to spiritual music (trance, progressive), Estelle P always delivers a unique sonic journey. In fact, her mix is a representation of one idea or a slide of her inner world and for this mix, Estelle P selected some new and old school electro, techno and trance to bring you into a psychedelic trip. Perhaps one of our most techno mixes yet Estelle P explores the depths of her expansive record collection executed with an unwavering focus.

Sydney has a new label! Air Signs Music started its activities in November last year and since then has been delivering high-quality and insightful underground gems filled with cosmic vibes. After featuring Tunnels Signs and Funboys (SXDNS227) for its first two episodes, the outlet now opens its doors for local heroine Reenie, a rising & shining DJ, producer, percussionist, and radio host – plus: she is also a vinyl retailer at The Record Store Sydney – whose debut release along with Tunnel Signs on Motorik a few months ago gave us the opportunity of taking a small peek into her influences and capabilities.

Flying solo this time, her “Space Cadet” EP is a true zero-gravity experience wrapped in melodic synths, groovy percussive elements, ethereal leads, and a delicious Balearic bearing. It’s a mix of Baldelli, Jarre, Vangelis, Tangerine Dream, Cerrone… You already know where we are going, right? So, let’s stop before the list gets too long. These are some of the sources – direct and indirect – the young producer might have scarfed down and blended with modern elements to come up with her interesting sonority – something that only a true music lover could conceive.

Premiered here, “Transmission From Paul” closes the EP with a “what’s next?” feeling and leaves us craving for more stuff from Reenie. Its deep, emotional, and mesmerizing aura triggered by the bouncing bassline, dreamlike arpeggios, and fitting speech-like vocals could not have resulted in a better finale. Kudos!
