"Morning in Nodar" by Dennis Bathory-Kitsz was commissioned and premiered by Tom Peters in Pasadena as part of the "We Are All Mozart" project. The score asked for bells controlled by pedals or the bow as well as virtuosic techniques to create a beautiful sound-life.

Written after the 1992 flooding in Monpelier, Vermont, "Super Flumina Babylonis" by Dennis Bathory-Kitsz uses the Latin text to "By the waters of Babylon" to express everyone's sadness after the tragedy. The 12-voice music went unheard for over a decade until Gonçalo Lourenço and his Coro Odyssea performed it in 2003. The image photo here shows the flooding of our own home in 2011.

Composed in just a few days in 2000 by Dennis Bathory-Kitsz, "Mountain Dawn Fanfare" replaced a piece on the program that wasn't delivered in time to the Montpelier Chamber Orchestra. Conductor Catherine Broucek Orr led the group through traditional portions as well as improvisational and aleatoric solos.
