DEEP FOREST "Stutter Dream" REMIX COMPETITION

"KARO Virtual Analog" constitutes a new set of 128 patches earmarked for Korg´s Workstation KRONOS and Nautilus. We mainly used three KRONOS EXiS,  namely AL1, MS20 and Polysix. Our central effort while programming these sounds was to let them sound like pure vintage synthesizer patches.  Our intention was not using too much processing power, i.e. each sound has only been enriched with that many effects which are absolutely necessary.

I like to experiment with the pace of a song. Nowadays dance music seems to be stuck in the 4-to-the-beat schematic, but there is so much more to rhythm than a straight 4/4. Even on danceable tracks you could add some polyrhythmic groove. So in the middle of this track I composed a piano melody based on a polyrhythmic pattern 6/4 and 7/4 at the same time on both hands. Some fun to play... The amazing Buchla 200e patched by Lyonel Bauchet brings some spices to the track

Eric Mouquet is also founder of Deep Forest, the pioneering ethno-ambient electronica band. He is on the cusp of a musical renaissance that promises to explore new directions, combinations and influences in ambient world music.
