Dr Bipin Mathew studied medicine at University in India, before undertaking his pathology training.  He moved to the UK in 2004 and completed his histopathology specialty training in Yorkshire.  During his first consultant post in Hull, he helped develop local training of extended practitioners, at a time when this was a very new role.  His passion for education continued as he became a Training Programme Director in the Yorkshire and Humber Deanery.  More recently, his leadership and management roles have extended into molecular pathology and he is Core Lead for the Genomics Laboratory Hub for the North East and Yorkshire. Find out about his journey into dermatopathology and his future plans working in molecular pathology.

His interest in these entities stem from the increased understanding that molecular pathology has given pathologists in diagnosing these melanocytomatic tumours. Bipin talks about some of the fascinating cases of BIMs he has seen in his work, and the team who he works with on diagnosing them and recommending treatment.
