East London duo RDX burst on to the scene with latest project ‘Think Twice’, an instant grime classic. Comprising of brothers’ RD and Mr. X, RDX push the genre’s boundaries and triumph in achieving a fresh grime sound, directly out of London. After time spent perfecting their craft, RDX’s new album comes at exactly the right time for the festival season.

The album is a refreshing look into the current thriving London music scene, with RDX clearly occupying their own space within the plethora of other rappers and musicians currently emerging.

The emotion and feel of the project is held firmly together by the shared experiences of both artists, their bond made obvious in tracks such as ‘Bro Flow’. This intrinsic connection allows for a healthy stream of shared inspiration to flourish, in turn providing them with the tools to take the already well established grime sound and give it a new lease of life. The lead single ‘Same Difference’, confirms RDX aren’t playing games. Ploughing its way into your brain with its fast paced beat, the track represents something inspired by the past yet injected with a new, energised lease of life.

‘Think Twice’ is a landmark project, and a rejuvenating statement from the two Londoners. In essence, the album is a electrifying trip down a road toward what grime could be, spurred on by the clear passion and talent of RDX.

East London native RD hits the ground running with his second collaboration project ‘Filthy Ard’, this time with grime titan Filthy Gears on executive production duties. Jam packed full of veterans and new school MC’s alike the curation level of this project is at an all-time high. Showcasing the multi-layers of grime culture ‘Filthy Ard’ includes guest features from Flowdan, Maxsta, Ten Dixon, Mr X., and many more.

Already gaining major support from BBC 1Xtra’s Sir Spyro, the lead single ‘No Long Ting’ is a classic war-ready riddim driven by bone-shaking bass and a militant prowess coming from RD and Flowdan’s high energy delivery. With a visual that is a gentle nod to the days of Channel U and reminiscent of Boo Kroo’s theme music video, ‘Live One’ pulls us into a time-warp when stacked horns and stock synths were king. The DIY nature of the track is charming and highlights the progression this landmark genre has made. Maxsta lends his fast-paced choppy vocals whilst RD’s brother Mr X caps of the track with unorthodox flow and swagger.

Consistently pushing the genre into new territories, RD and Filthy Gears come together on ‘Filthy Ard’ to show that grime is far from dead.
