FKOF fam @kami-o is back at it again with his next self-release - and it's his debut full length effort. As to be expected, it's another epic instalment as to why we rate the producer so much - and when you hear 'Aavaas' you'll know why...

"Named after his late grandfather Birendra Nath Bose, 'Biren' is Kami-O's first full length project and 2nd self release, after 2020s 'Hara' EP.

"Musically, the album is an exploration of his Indian heritage, taking inspiration from various forms of traditional Indian music and combining them with his usual 140bpm style.

"Starting out as an EP, the project quickly developed into a longer form concept as more ideas came to mind. To complete the project, an artwork was made by his mother and Anglo-Indian artist Helen Bose as a visual compliment to the music."

Flip side ‘Why Didn’t You Realise Before’ switches up the mood with its somber Rhodes piano tones and pots and pans like percussion to create another seriously classy joint.

What we have here are two massive tunes from Rareman showing different sides to his production. Class from front to back, debuts don’t come much better than this. Big up Rareman on this killa plate!

@Yoofee defines his own laws in dubstep in his Albion Collective debut. Off-kilter rhythms, spring-loaded progressions and intelligent basslines characterise the Berlin-based jazz musician’s electronic output.

‘Seek & Move’ cracks its whip across the A-side, rolling head-first over a hot-footed bassline into drunken fills that reinvigorate the slick & steady tempo. Chased through Uematsu-esque backstreets, the cinematic ‘Jankar’ spirals along hair-raising strings, wall-crawling arpeggios and Berlin’s deep, rumbling sub. Yoofee’s jazz heritage enhances the oldschool tones of ‘Make You Believe’, its summer-sun piano riff coaxing dancefloor memories from behind locked doors.

Submersed in a heady atmosphere of synapse-sparking percussion and against-the-grain rhythm sections, Yoofee carves new, enigmatic roads into 140 for his Albion Collective debut.
