Zwischen den Weinbergen der Pfalz geboren, in Mannheim gestrandet – und von dort aus längst auf musikalischer Wanderschaft durch die Clubs und Kollektive der Republik: MdCat steht für tief bassige, bouncige staubig-ehrliche Sounds, die sich irgendwo zwischen Downtempo und Midtempo einnisten – erdig, kantig, verspielt und immer mit einer Prise Dreck unter den Nägeln.
Seit einem Jahr ist sie Resident im Peer23 (Mannheim), inzwischen auch Teil des Kabinett der Kuriositäten (Frankfurt), und aus den Line-ups von Veranstaltungen im ganzen Rhein-Neckar-Main Gebiet nicht mehr wegzudenken. Wo MdCat spielt, wird nicht nur getanzt – da wird gefühlt, geschwitzt, gelächelt. So wie sie auch! 
Ihre Sets graben sich nicht über den Kopf, sondern direkt über die Hüfte ins Herz.
Dabei ist klar: MdCat macht das nicht einfach so. Sie liebt, was sie tut – und das hört man mit jedem Takt. In ihrer Musik verschmelzen Groove und Intuition mit bouncigem Druck und Zärtlichkeit. Kein kalkuliertes Sounddesign, sondern ein roher Fluss, der die Crowd trägt.

Dies ist die Live-Aufnahme meines DJ-Sets, das ich dieses Jahr beim Ausversehen Festival in Bremen spielen durfte. Dort gibt es so viele wunderbare Menschen, mit denen ich mich immer sehr verbunden und gleichzeitig sehr frei fühle. Ihre Offenheit, Ehrlichkeit und Herzlichkeit spornen mich immer zu Höchstleistungen an den Decks an. Wenn ich die dabei empfundenen Emotionen in einem Satz zusammenfassen müsste, so würde ich es wie folgt tun:
„Freiheit ist das, was wir im Zusammenspiel mit anderen erschaffen.“

So grateful I got to bring my guitar and piano on Sunday morning at Creatures Corner and play a few tunes. But even happier to see everyone dancing in the sun and sharing warmth with each other.

a big solar system of hearts to everybody spending those 2 hours with us outside the central systems.

find our set spiked with a few evergreens from within the aufbau-kosmos, a few soon-to-see-the-light tracks and a closer that always hits differently.

First single of the first Mass Memory EP - From Nowhere. 

This single reflects the polished, clean and peaceful aspects of the label.
Slow pads and reverberations build up over a soft rhythm section, featuring sharp hats and shakers, while FM basses revolve underneath, creating a much desired motion, where notes start to shatter and turn into noise. 
On top, lies a beautiful, dream evoking lead synth, moving between layers of atmospheric overdubs. 

Imagine yourself walking through a forest, with crushing autumn leaves under your feet, watching the late afternoon sun infiltrate through the high pine leaves, creating a golden atmosphere and bathing in light your surroundings.
