His work focuses on gathering and weaving found sound with acoustics.
His use of electro-acoustics creates a delicate atmosphere, immersing the listener in a web of sound that subtly shifts and scatters.

“Dreams, memories, the sacred--they are all alike in that they are beyond our grasp. Once we are even marginally separated from what we can touch, the object is sanctified; it acquires the beauty of the unattainable, the quality of the miraculous. Everything, really, has this quality of sacredness, but we can desecrate it at a touch. How strange man is! His touch defiles and yet he contains the source of miracles.”

"What was a crucial sonic experience in your life?"
My earliest memory of sound is perhaps the most vivid. I'm not sure I believe in the accuracy of early memories, but this single memory hangs in my psyche with great persistence. I am sitting near to the top of the stairs in my childhood home, I am perhaps six years old. Where the stairs bend to meet the top floor there is a small landing with a grandfather clock. This clock is shrouded in fascination for me even now. I am trying to copy the chime that rings on the hour with the strings of my classical guitar. Finding this simple note brings me endless joy.

MNEMOSYNE #005 - ISHMAEL CORMACK

The electronic music project Nocturnal Phase is born in 2014, in a world full of anxiety, overproduction, deadlines, uncertainty and noises. 
"I feel the music and sounds I produce are a process of ascension to find my peace. I've been always fascinated by all those things that goes unnoticed and unheard." 
This mix is a mixture of some unreleased tracks, field recordings from the South of Italy and other tracks made by artists that inspired Nocturnal Phase during his musical path. 

What was a crucial sonic experience in your life? 
I think it was London, I've been always astonished by the variety of the sounds in this city in which I lived for almost three years.
