Let's meet our dj for episode 570, Abstract Drumz:

As some of you may already know, I have retired from releasing music through other labels and walked away from social media. From now on I’m going to be only releasing music through either Over/Shadow or my own Bandcamp page. This allows me much more creative freedom and takes away any pressure when it comes to making music. Often I go through stages where, due to health issues, I just can’t make music at all for long periods of time and when you’ve got people in your inbox asking for tunes it can get quite overwhelming and the whole process of making music can start to feel like a chore. Making music has always been a hobby and I want it to stay that way. As for upcoming releases, I have a track called “Loss” coming out on a Subtle Audio compilation in the next few months. The tracks “Culture 2024” and “Ethereal (remix)” will be dropping on Over/Shadow in the near future and the two Amen tracks “The Darkness Inside” and “Death Will Come From The Skies” will go up on my Bandcamp page at around the same time as this mix drops. I’m also continuing to work on my “160” series, bringing more oldskool vibes and experimental flavours plus, I’ll be putting out more Dub stuff and generally just making stuff and putting it out there. Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the mix, huge thanks to Brian for letting me do this, I had a great time putting it together.

Good morning and Happy New Year!!2016 promises to be a big year for The Everyday Junglist Podcast!!! Welcome to episode 282 of The Everyday Junglist Podcast-Detroit!! Thank you Loz Contreras for the smooth, energy filled mix for episode 281!! This week, I am featuring an exclusive mix from Dj Trax, and it's a BIG ONE!! The mix Dj Trax did for my podcast is the first part in a two-part series, featuring the seminal label, Moving Shadow!! This mix will take you way back, it's filled with classic anthems that are beautifully mixed together!! Dj Trax's mix is a perfect way to start 2016, epic mix here!! Lets meet our dj for this week, Dj Trax: I started Drumming at 7, DJing at 12 and at 15 I formed the hip hop group Mixrace with two MC`s (Dev Paradox + Leke Aerosoul.) I released my first track a year later in (1991) on Brain Records. In the same year myself and Dev signed to Moving shadow. Over the next 3 years I released Solo 12"s on Shadow under DJ Trax and Joint releases under Mixrace. In 94 we set up 5 record companies with Scott W and Gary S Stronghold, Mixrace Productions, Offset, Nautilus+ Mobhanded. Myself and Paradox released a couple of dozen 12"s on the labels, both solo, and duo (under Brown + Dangerman.) We also collaborated with Hyper On Experience. From 97 to 2003 I mainly focused on downbeat/leftfield music. I released an album and two 12"s on LaCerba/3mv as well as releasing on Goodlooking, Kriztal, Mole, Beats + Pieces and Hed Kandi. I also Remixed Kutis Blow The Breaks! From 2003 to 2010 I have released a further two albums 1,000 Pictures + Thoughts In Widesceen which was on the front cover on Knowledge Magazine. I've also released on Outsider Music, Ociris, Subtle Audio, Omni Music, Tempo, Paradox Music, OSR, Subvert Central,Crisis,Misspent Music, Syncopathic Recordings and my own label Audio Buffet. I have released a series of EP`s with US Hip Hop group, Assorted Anonymous and have a Full album with AA coming very soon. Alongside the releases, I've also written music for many TV/Multimedia projects and Scored for the Feature Film, Shifty. Ive dj`d and have run nights through out this time.
