Voxnox Podcast 138 - Frederic.

Based in Berlin and with Russian roots, @kalteliebe keep drawing their inspiration from Post-Punk, Grunge, Dark Wave, EBM, and Techno. Coming with years-long experiences in different musical projects ranging from beat-making over metal bands, Hip Hop ensembles, and more the project started back in 2019 using a drum machine, a bass synth, and a wasted microphone, only.
Authentically recorded in a 12 square meter room in Berlin Kalte Liebe started out as an experiment combining diverse influences by the likes of Sydney Vallette, Thomas P. Heckmann @troperecordings, @dieselektion, DAF, Falco, and more into their distinctively analog, raw, and bassline-driven style.
While their productions are mostly consisting of an elaborated mixture of EBM and old-school Dark Wave paired with technoid characteristics and captivating, roughly distorted vocals in German and Englisch the duo equally stands for tool-ish and highly energetic Techno – modern, pounding, and dirty.
With recent releases on labels like @01010100records , @vituscurse & BFT, even more strongly performing self-releases like „Ego EP“and their recently launched label „Sys.Ex“ they are slowly establishing their name in the scene and quickly growing their audience. With a live performance in the making and packed with loads of unreleased work Kalte Liebe is soon to be heard all over.

We're starting the new year with a podcast by Berlin based DJ producer Alivemaex, founder & head of the label STUDIOENNEA. Originally from the Frankfurt area, where he has built a reputation for himself by successfully organizing various club nights including the recently established MIXEDBASSARTS event series, Alivemaex is now an active part of the local techno scene of the German capital. The dark yet melodic sound of his productions perfectly complements the melancholic atmosphere of his new home city and manages to attract fans from both the techno community as well as wider musical audiences. after a long time i finally decided to record and publish my set from the E-werk.
Unfortunately, there were some technical difficulties so that some of the tracks in the set seem a little overdriven. in addition, the first track in the set had to be re-recorded, so the transition is a bit jerky.

Her debut „Fatigue“ on UK label Lobster Theremin is now followed by a release on Live From Earth in collaboration with Julian Muller. With much more in the pipeline CAIVA is set to have a huge (and totally uncliched) 2022.

Es ist unmöglich, stillzustehen, wenn ÜBERKIKZ an den Decks ist. Die junge Künstlerin ist eine in Russland geborene und in Frankfurt lebende DJ. Sie ist seit den Anfängen Teil des Labels @studioennea und Gründerin des feministischen Kunstkollektivs @junakarat.

Ihr Stil ist inspiriert vom Techno der frühen 2000er Jahre. Obwohl ihre Sets von Anfang bis Ende von unaufhaltsamen Groove durchzogen sind, fehlt es ihnen nicht an Scharfkantigkeit. Die Kicks sind hart und treibend. Trancige Melodien werden auf einzigartige Weise mit Folk- und Tribal-Elemente kombiniert. Jedes ihrer Sets ist eine emotionale Geschichte, die jeder versteht, wenn er sich treiben lässt.
