SCARTIE - Lost In Love

I’ve always been interested in the worldbuilding behind Norse folklore and mythology. When I was brainstorming different ways that folk music and bass music could interact, I got the idea to try to capture some of the raw energy that a lot of European folk metal bands put out. It’s visceral and heavy, but not without a sense of immersive melodic space.

This song doesn’t feel to me much like most melodic dubstep; it feels almost Viking and apocalyptic. At the same time it doesn’t take itself too seriously. I’m just some dude in a studio; I’m about as far away from a Viking longship as one could get. At the end of the day it has turned out to be a really fun song. I’ve been playing it out for over a year now so I’m excited to finally get it out.
