Nightpsy Dj Mix Nr.6

It is finally time to release my second album: Mio (along with a long ramble about it)

This has been an incredible journey to make over the last two years and I am overjoyed to share it with you. Each track was made with intention and purpose both musically and personally to create a Psytrance album that is designed to be listened to from start to finish – as well as work individually on dancefloors. Over the coming weeks, after release, I will take you all through each track and its meaning and creation.

I streamed the writing of all these tracks on Twitch as I strongly believe that music is meant to be a shared experience and build community. It was amazing to let everybody into the process and to have their live feedback and share knowledge between all of us.

Part of what makes music so much fun for me is the learning and the challenge to push myself and push the music. I wanted to do that with this album and tried to use unique methods of sound design in each track with a clear concept of the track before even starting – part of this challenge was to not use FM at all throughout the whole thing.

The album is named Mio for my young Nephew whom I adore. It was meant to be released on his 4th birthday, but due to distributor-based-boring-administrative reasons got delayed by a couple of weeks. He is moving further away from me and this felt like a great opportunity to toast him!

I have had the BEST time making this album and have loved seeing people’s reactions on the dancefloor to it so thank you all and I really hope that you enjoy it and understand the intentions behind it.

A huge thanks to Al Shanka  for the mastering, Struan  for the amazing artwork everyone at Bom Shanka Music, Tadhg and Josh Eritas for being great friends and dealing with my crippling lack of self confidence and bloody all of yous!

Guillaume es un audiófilo de corazón, practicó tocando la batería durante muchos años, actuó con varias bandas y pasó por muchos géneros musicales hasta que descubrió los primeros sonidos electrónicos en los años 90, que le ofrecieron horizontes tan nuevos y emocionantes que volverse imposible.

En 1993 decidió tomar platos giratorios y comenzar a mezclar en eventos en el sudeste de Francia. A partir de ahí, su pasión por la música continúa guiándolo en un viaje lleno de intercambios y encuentros en todo el mundo y sus pistas de baile (Brasil, Croacia, Francia, India, Indonesia, Marruecos, Portugal, Rusia, Suiza, España, Turquía).

Guillaume is an audiophile at heart, he practiced playing the drums for many years, performed with various bands and went through many musical genres until he discovers the first electronic sounds in the 90s, which offered him such new and exciting horizons that turning back becomes impossible!

In 1993 he decided to take on turntables and start mixing at events in Southeast France. From there, his passion for music continues to guide him on a journey filled with exchanges and encounters across the globe and its dance floors (Brazil, Croatia, France, India, Indonesia, Morocco, Portugal, Russia, Swiss, Spain, Turkey).

He joined the Swiss label PEAK RECORDS in 2007 and collaborated with famous duo Yab-Yum and Ajja. (www.peakrec.com)
