UK inspired electronic music has changed significantly over the past twenty years, mutating between elements of bass, house music, techno and back again. The sounds are often intertwined and linked by creative dj's and producers who aren't keen to be pigeonholed or bound by the limitations of genre or style. 

Tom VR is a perfect example of one such artist, an emerging producer who has risen to prominence with an array of eclectic, thoughtful releases on the likes of All My Thoughts, Lionoil Industries and his own imprint Valby Rotary which he runs alongside Louf. His most accomplished work perhaps has come on a new EP for Midland's record label, Intergraded. A pensive, bass inspired affair which also features beautiful ambient textures and delicate, precise sound design built to immerse dancers in the clubs. 

Tom's own musical tastes are rooted in the more pensive undertones of electronic music, there is a tonal undercurrent which runs throughout his work and sound. That's not to call it 'deep' but it is.

Lacuna returns swiftly for thirds, offering a now-cursory split EP from Chile’s Nicoba and Peru’s DJ Latinchat. 4 tracks trading on a futurist dembow tip, bridging a stunning array of global club sounds into delirious transmissions of vital latinx dancefloor mutations.

Nicoba steps up to the plate first with ‘Encuentros en el Fin del Mundo’, optimistically stepping on its doomsday surroundings by shaking its traditional reggaeton rump in cosmic delirium, bordering on galactic euphoria throughout its supposed endtimes. ‘Pensándote’ is next, shifting the tempo to boil garbled vocals and fizzing sound design amongst a techno dembow pump.

DJ Latinchat tags in to continue the walls-sweating dancefloor pressure with ‘Keribel’, a raptor-like stomper with clever vocal cuts and a tight coil of pressurised drum rollage. ‘Cafuné’ is our close, a sincere yet deadly dancehall and half-time lurcher that seesaws on a tension and release edge with a devious glare.

NYC’s Twist crew extend their multi-faceted operations with the launch of their eponymously titled label. Texan DivPro inaugurates the imprint with TWIST001, an EP of rudest 2-step and 8-bar grime gut punches including a collaboration with London MC Renz.

Since 2022, label-head Don-Ri has bridged Ireland’s West Coast to America’s East Coast in the sounds of the underground. Bass, breaks and UKG define the obsession, leading to the formation of Twist; a cherished party collective that has been responsible for some of New York City’s most beloved raves that thrive in DIY spaces and small places. Many parties later, the crew now find themselves looking to expand into label operations. Texas native DivPro finds sonic solace within the crew’s maelstrom to oblige with the ideal debut in TWIST001. It follows the producer's previous turns for Ascetic House, Beat Concern, and L.A.U.R.A.

Kicking off proceedings, 'Punishment' rolls deep on a sharp 2 stepper with modern flair, tussling its proto influences amongst a melee of phat sines and movie samples. 'Datt Way' switches up for an ice-cold heater, a proper furious 8 bar roller of tough drum work sealed with a phenomenal vocal turn from London MC-on-the-rise Renz. 'RMT' hybridises the lot, seesawing a devious dialogue between garage swing, dubstep skank and pulsing toms. 'Reduvia' claps back for the closer, its grimey inclinations wobbling amongst a tense stuttering of kicks and basslines.
