Our third episode takes up chapters 2 and 3 on exchange and money, where the C-M-C circuit makes its first appearance. After setting up the juridical conditions of market exchange, we look at how money arises out of and transforms the exchange process. Next, we examine some of the contradictions inherent in the money-form, including those between C-M and M-C, and how these are intensified forms of the general contradictions between exchange-value and use-value. We discuss the origins and value of money, the difference between price and value (and what this has to do with sanctions and tariffs), credit, and money’s role as a 1) measure of value, 2) medium of circulation, and 3) means of payment, and the contradictions between these functions.

#3: MONEY (Ch. 2-3)

Our fourth episode covers chapters 4-6, where Marx offers the first definitions of capital, surplus-value, labor power, as well as the relationship between the legal superstructure and the economic base. Picking up on the introduction of money into the exchange process and the contradictions between use-value and exchange-value, we begin by distinguishing C-M-C from M-C-M’, before questioning where the increase in M (or surplus-value) comes from. The answer? Labor power! The end of the episode discusses the unique properties of labor power, how its value is determined, the conditions under which it’s exchanged, and how the buying and selling of labor power alone can’t explain surplus-value.

Dr. Kat Lindley discusses her experience during the "pandemic" and how growing up in communist Yugoslavia allowed her to instantly recognize the totalitarianism we were being subjected to by our governments in the name of "public health". She explains how she lost faith in the CDC as absolutely none of the pandemic protocols made any sense and the vaccines are not safe and effective. The elites are doing a great job at advancing the Great Reset (e.g. EVs, CBDCs, bugs). Nevertheless, good things are happening such as protests and we are over the target when it comes to messaging. The WHO is seeking to take away our sovereignty, we must keep resisting.

About Dr. Kat Lindley
I had an interesting life. I grew up in a small country on the Adriatic Sea, better known for Matt Lauer getting lost in Dubrovnik. Croatia is a beautiful Mediterranean destination, but our history is quite violent and oppressive. In those days it was known as Yugoslavia and was under the communist rule of Josip Broz Tito. As a child, I learned early on not to dream too big. Tito’s sudden death and internal fightings lead to the Balkan war that lasted several years and it ultimately resulted in a new country, Hrvatska, and its independence. I was 18 when my hometown of Split was attacked and with urging from my family, I left for Italy where the second part of my life as a free individual started. My travels lead me to England and ultimately United States where I truly learned what freedom and opportunity meant. After several years, I graduated from the medical school and started practicing family medicine. I realized early on in my career that medicine is more than just the practice of it. Medicine is also an opportunity to become a voice for patients and colleagues. My desire to make a difference led me to working with some amazing individuals with the same goal, to make medicine better for everyone while pursuing the three important tenants of the American way of life, life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

this was fun to do. i resampled some stems from my upcoming track 09 and layered and layered and layered... i think this soundscape goes almost 20 channels deep, which is a lot for me. i mixed it very dark, removing most of the top end, because i wanted it to contrast with the brighter beat-based tracks. lots of nods to morricone's western soundtracks (especially in my guitar playing) because that - weirdly - is where track 09 is headed...

(side note: i would love to hear SUNN O))) take on the western soundtracks of morricone)

intersecting language and sound :::: this time, i converted the track title to audio using text-to-speech, and then used the resulting audio to control the gate on the muffled lyre samples - hence the (inaudible) title of the track modulates the volume of the lyres. also, there is a series of seven quiet samples that slowly move from the left to the right of the stereo field, mimicking the motion of the eye as it moves across the page (when, for example, reading english.)

working on this raised some questions about the relationship of drone to time. wittgenstein once wrote that you can be sad for five minutes, but you cannot be depressed for five minutes. similarly, i'm not sure if you can drone for 3 minutes. either way, i would definitely like to extend this track, to give it more room to breathe - to hang (by) itself, so to speak.
