On episode 17 of Canon Fodder we get into the grit, glory, and (sometimes) glamour of the Rocky universe. The ultimate underdog story. The never ending quest to pick yourself back up and keep trying. There are so many great themes weaved into these stories, supported by complex characters and heartfelt moments. Oh, and Rocky also ended the Cold War, so there's that too. After all of the good and the bad, we get into the fodder because yes, even Rocky has fodder.

On episode 58 of Talking Tacos, the boys are almost killed by a grenade. It's not an actual grenade with shrapnel and shit, but hot sauce in a bottle shaped like a grenade; which honestly should have been a real red flag for us. This thing smelled like dog food and almost blanked our taste buds into nonexistence.

Canon Fodder episode 21 is our 2021 year in revue, interestingly enough.  For our second annual revue roundup, we take a look back at all of the fictional universes that we've visited not just in 2021, but during our first year in 2020 as well. The universes are ever-expanding. 

We cover a LOT in this episode, the least of which is:

- The novelization of the unproduced Alien 3 screenplay
- The animated series set in the Blade Runner universe, Black Lotus
- The novelization and nuances of Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (plus what Tarantino's actual 10th film might be)
- The scrapped John McLane prequel series

Canon Fodder Episode 21: Year In Revue 2021

A couple of weeks ago the boys hosted a very special two-part episode with Asbury Park Distilling, the release of the Spring 2022 cocktail menu! This was a private event where Casey and Rachel took guests through the entire Spring menu, packed with eight new artfully-crafted cocktails. Guests got to try a sample of each cocktail from the new menu while Casey and Rachel explained the recipe, creation, and inspiration behind each new drink. The boys just provided color commentary and got to have a bunch of drinks. No tacos this week, but plenty of talking. Shoot the corn and drink the drink!

This week on Talking Tacos, the boys mansplain and eat tamales. I guess you could say Talking Tamales amirite??

In meme news, the four horsemen of the mansplaining meme are finally complete with the first ever womansplaining meme, and it’s glorious. The boys get held up by a bunch of Karen’s with absolutely zero restaurant etiquette, so of course we explain what not to do to anyone who will listen. Fantasy football season is almost upon us and Matt still has no fucking clue what a Taxi Squad is. Chris gets ordained and Bill reminisces on his high school, yes high school, bar. We trash hotel rooms and figure out how much we all sweat. Just peak dinner table conversation for the boys.

Talking Tacos Episode 83: The Boys Mansplain Tamales

On episode 103 of Talking Tacos, the boys get into a beer war. Bill and Chris chug each other’s beers in a war that will likely last for the next 100 episodes because Bill and Chris are two of the most stubborn people on the planet. Doctor Dave even got in on the action for a beer or two. We revue our first hot sauce from our Tongue Burners batch, Tapa Who, and it was delicious. Drake makes us uncomfortable. Kung Fu Joe updates us on NJ gun laws. Meme of the Week ™ is the cop in Tennessee who fucked basically the entire police force. This beer war will go on for a very long time.

On episode 111 of Talking Tacos, the boys miss Matt. Like, really really miss him. Someone named PAT Magnifico tried to coerce the boys into forgetting Matt, but it didn’t take. In classic Doctor Dave fashion, he broke first on the challenge of going the entire episode without mentioning Matt. This week, with Matt on vacation, Chris was a champion and worked the board and did it flawlessly. Shore Sauce’s mango habanero makes a surprise #onechip appearance. Toblerone is apparently outsourcing their production to a place where they aren’t allowed to use the trademark Matterhorn. Kids piss on the walls of Netti’s. Twin Lights rules. White women love true crime shit. You ever listen to your own podcast? We do.

Talking Tacos Episode 111: The Boys Miss Matt

On episode 156 of Talking Tacos the boys grow. Metaphorically that is. We’ve been hard at work cultivating new relationships with taco-adjacent friends and it’s really been paying off in every way you can imagine. You want to be part of the fun with the boys, DM us. But let’s not forget that it’s also Tuesday and sometimes, things happen on Tuesday. This Tuesday, Bill got end-of-podcast drunk before the podcast even began. These things will happen. Bill and Chris swear to take their feud to the grave. Talking Tacos Episode 156: The Boys Grow

It’s a bird! It’s a plan! It’s Canon Fodder’s 41st episode on (DUH) Superman!! Specifically we dive into the world of the OG. The movie upon which all future iterations of Superman have taken inspiration from, Superman: The Movie in 1978 starring Christopher Reeve, Margot Kidder, and Gene Hackman. And while we normally wouldn’t draw attention to it, this series of movies features hands-down the greatest theme song of all time by none other than John Williams. We talk about the 5 movies in the Christopher Reeves-verse (yes there’s five because the Richard Donner cut is the real deal). This is just part 1!

Canon Fodder Episode 41: Superman

On episode 172 of Talking Tacos the boys build terminators. Because that’s the latest conspiracy theory from the NY Times of all places. America is using Ukraine to test out murder robots, allegedly…dope. We’re here for it. In an election year, everything is fair game. Bill gets hurt from across the pond with a new pineapple sauce from our buddy Mark at Singularity. Matt also makes his own sauce for everyone to try and IT’S GOOD!

On episode 180 of Talking Tacos the boys are on death row, but just for the food. We talk about famous last meals from convicts on death row and talk about what our favorite last meals would be. We also learn that Bill is more likable than Campbell, but that’s not news to any of us! It’s your usual Tuesday shenanigans. Grab your tequila and side up to the table.

The latest episode of Canon Fodder goes into the underworld with the Beetlejuice universe. Like many of you, we remember the Beetlejuice cartoon show before the movie itself because that’s what us millennials did - watched cartoons. With the latest entry into the universe, Tim Burton, Michael Keaton, Winona Ryder, and Catherine O’Hara return for an even wackier romp than the first time around. Jenna Ortega and Willem Dafoe round out a darkly hilarious cast in a movie filled with plenty of gags and heart and, of course, connections to canon!

On episode 182 of Talking Tacos the boys vote! Because voting is cool! And when you vote you magically fix all of the problems that the government has caused in the first place! Just kidding. You should vote but it’s not going to fix shit. You’re still going to be taxed into oblivion and have to watch that money be wasted on foreign wars and corporate bailouts while listening to politicians tell you that they care about you. Aside from that, we have a banger sauce from Swamp Dog sauces and we make fun of a  San Francisco-based company and their silly bunk beds for tech morons that make a six figure salary and still can’t afford to live in that stupid city. Thank god for Tuesdays, amirite??

On episode 183 of Talking Tacos the boys vote didn't count. Because voting doesn't actually matter in federal elections. but god damn was that a wild ride. The election went as you'd expect if you were paying even a little bit of attention. On the plus side, we sample a DELIGHTFUL hot sauce from our old friends at Butch's hot sauce. These guys never miss.
