With our Midnight Rituals mix series we wanted to showcase a change in our musical direction, darker, more club focused, and where our sound will be transitioning towards in 2017. We are excited to extend our roots even deeper into the club world and continue making records that are fit for the dancefloor, and most importantly that we feel are coming from a true place.

In the wake of a spread of releases Urulu arrives, the latest convert to the Kalahari Oyster Cult. "Transworld" is the American artist's first gift to the diety. The track physically jitters into life as broken beats and classic samples give rise to an elusive melody of spaced out synthlines and expansive arcs. Shapes are a central theme of the EP, like the exotic curves, playful percussion and full bodied bass of "Precinct 9." Urulu toys with assumed structures, nowhere is this more evident than in the bizarre and brilliant medley of bleeps, honks, squeaks and bold beats that make up "Groove Therapy." Trippy samples introduce "Precinct 9 (Extremix)," a final psychedelic trip of Technicolor trance to bring the listener back from a journey known as Ex-Terrestrial.

VA - The Blaq Bunch Vol. 3 (BLAQTAPES007)

We've been fans of Jackson Almond for a hot minute and when we saw he's popped up on the new Blaq Numbers release our eyes were drawn and ears primed. The new VA comp is coming out on a special release of 150 cassettes and also digitally via their Bandcamp pumped full of 21 tracks. Jackson's track is an off kilter lo-fi houser with deep punchy drums, clever leftfield sampling and a quirky robotic vocal that reminds us of Les Rythmes Digitales.

We are delighted to welcome Barcelona-based newcomer ​Guim (@guim-house)​ to the label for our 3rd release

His latest offering ​Hylian Jams ​blends influences from 00’s garage, Henry Wu and Zelda. Inspired one night by a Wu x K15 Boiler Room set, he sat down and whipped up these four beauties especially for us.

For such a young producer, Guim carves out a surprisingly mature nod to classic UKG and broken beat with this gorgeous EP.
