This week, Asher Postman sat down to chat on the EDM Prodcast. Asher Postman has released on labels such as Armada Music and is well known for his viral YouTube remix videos. His Walmart Yodeling Kid [Trap Remix] video has over 20 million views on YouTube, and his Dubai Was Lit [Trap Remix] video has over 10 million views.

Every artist project needs an entry point, and after years at failing the Soundcloud game, Asher turned to Facebook and YouTube videos to jumpstart his growth. This worked well, and now he’s making a living off of music and releasing on top labels. Given Asher Postman’s unique entry into the music industry, this episode is both insightful and refreshing.

We dive deep into Asher’s background, discussing the struggles and failures he experienced early on. He talks about how he dealt with that rejection, and how he came to terms with the incredibly low odds there are to succeed as an artist. We then get into his inspiration for creating his first comedy video, and how with a minimal following and $7 in Facebook ads that first video reached over a million views. 

We look at how he grew from that first video, establishing a core fanbase that enabled him to make a living off of music. We also discuss the direction for his artist project and how his YouTube channel fits into his vision for the Asher Postman brand. Later on, we discuss how to stay both productive and sane on social media, tips for avoiding music burnout, and Asher’s best advice for new producers.
