The Dopeboyz are back with round 2 of their VHS hero's series. More power synths, more nostalgia and more material to chop. VHS stands for video home system and was first introduced back in 1976 in Japan. Growing up in the late 80s and early 90s it was the video technology.

Reminiscing about the movies from that era brings back a lot of great memories. Memories of action heroes, synth music and very bad karate flicks in poor quality. One thing that stood out on those classic movies was the music. Heavy analog synths sounds mixed with distorted guitars and electric pianos.

VHS Heroes Vol.2 includes 13 full length compositions + stems that capture the sonics and vibe of that era

GO is a 4-minute fever-dream inspired by fragments of fantastical children’s novels. The song is a commentary on the work-life imbalance of modern times. A dozen celestial characters including myself, float in a space-casino and chase their fate in a speedy and unstable world. The singer (me) is a trickster, presenting glimmers of opportunity, then changing voices to relay worldly wisdom and warnings of failure. The song winds its way through a frantic universe while angling towards fun and optimism.
