Today Real J. Wallace shares “Open Letter” across all streaming platforms. “The song addresses a desire to dismantle patriarchy in exchange for a society that prioritizes women’s empowerment,” Real J. explains. “Open Letter” was performed at the 2020 March for Black Womxn San Diego. In solidarity with the organization’s continued efforts and demands, all proceeds from “Open Letter” purchases and streams will be donated directly to MFBWSD in collaboration with BAM -- who will be matching proceeds up to $1,000. In collaboration with Real J.’s fundraising efforts, visual artist Heron Hues has created a limited edition t-shirt featuring original artwork for the song. With this work, Heron aims to preserve and glorify Black history using Black cultural artifacts to inspire his clothing collection designs. 20% of proceeds from purchases will be donated directly to M4BWSD.

     I (realjwallace) am starting off my Summer by getting signed to La record company New World Color ( Co owned by Blu & Mainframe ). One of my first acts is to bring acknowledgement to San Diego. The place I was born and raised in, 'America's Finest City'. Blacks Beach gets you familiar with the culture by having you know the environment. Explore San Diego.        

     Blacks Beach is a Nude beach in San Diego, California, Torrey Pines to be exact. Although it is infamous for its nudity, it may also be just as infamous for its monthly 'Drum Circle' events. A social and spiritual gathering in celebration of the full moon. It's a time to align yourself with the cosmos, and understand the universal constant of love (A self experienced definition). After years of hearing about the legendary 'Drum Circle', I was compelled to go and see it first hand. I had an amazing spiritual encounter and I felt the energy of the moon like I had never felt it before. This song, entitled 'Blacks Beach' is about that experience. And like all art it is about immortalizing the past so that people can appreciate it and learn from it.     

        I fell in love with California a long time ago, but it hasn't always loved me back. Since the beginning of the year ," the full moons have been full of disrespectful people showing up to get drunk, trash the beach, get in fights, hurt people, and otherwise engage in activities that are in direct opposition to the purpose of the circle. People have trashed the event and it's no longer a Full Moon Drum Circle". Not by Definition at least. I created this song to bring a sense of permanence to the experience that I had at Blacks Beach and in hopes that all things come full circle. Find your renaissance and find your glory, become reborn every moment. And most importantly know that you can manifest thoughts into reality so have no censors this Summer. - RA

My Hair is my first single release representing The Holyfield . Geminelle Rollins and features her vocals to the song as she hits the road with Dauché Bates on their Follow the Music Tour. Both artist are featured in this song as well as teacher/musician/producer Luis Lopez who also plays the guitar at the end of My Hair. Sean Patrick McBride co produces and plays the drums.
My hair was inspired by the viral instagram picture of @shaebae09 and is about growth and acceptance. The sun (knowledge) teaches us from the root and allows us to reach back and match it's grace.

I lifted my head up and headed home from the recording process and the news said there was an active shooter in Las Vegas. 59 people died, and I realized there were things that I had not said and dreams I had not lived and most of all music that I had not released. I promised myself that I would not die with all of my unreleased music and after conversations with close friends I realized the best thing to do would be to share my medicine with people.
