Entre fines de los 80 y cominezo de los 90 atravesamos como nación nuestra peor crisis de violencia, pobreza y descomposición social.

Es durante estos años que la música se convirtió en nuestro refugio más seguro y el medio que nos permitió plasmar las reflexiones que nos planteábamos. Estas estaban dirigidas a la búsqueda de respuestas a los orígenes de los problemas que atravesávamos. Uno de los problemas que ha influenciado mucho este trabajo y que nos persigue desde la época de la Conquista, radica que nunca nos hemos sobrepuesto a este choque de culturas que está latente dentro de nosotros.

Pos Virú se forma a cominezos de 1990 cuando la crisis llega a su puntomás crítico. El albúm contiene 11 temas compuestos entre los años 1990 y 1995 que contienen elementos musicales que no sólo expresan este conflicto cultural, sino también aspectos puntuales de conyuntura, como violencia, frustración, odio, paz, miedo y esperanza.

@barrycantswim drops into the Mixmag Lab at No90 Hideout to deliver a 60 minute DJ set of summer-y house groovers.

"It’s been three years since my last Mixmag set and this was a bit of a full circle moment for me. No90 was actually where I played my second ever DJ set. I barely slept the night before with nerves haha. Felt really special to be back in that room again for the first time since and remembering that moment," says Barry Can't Swim. 

"It’s been getting more and more normal to play faster and faster sets the past few years. I really wanted to show that you can still play tracks that have energy without having to ramp up the bpm too high and lose the groove. Big up! ❤️"
